Organic Options For Fertilising Your Vegetable Garden

By Eric J Smith I have often been asked what is the best organic fertiliser to add to the soil of a vegetable garden. Its not the sort of question that has an easy answer, but its not a complicated solution either. There is really no exact answer to a best product when it comes to organic nutrients. Organic gardening is more about a system of gardening - Crop rotation, mulching, composting, vermicast, and companion planting all form a part of an Organic Gardening System. The best place to start is to create 2 or 3 compost heaps in your backyard. Whether you use a Compost Bin, Tumbler, Stack or Compost bays the end result will still be the same - A nutrient rich soil conditioner and mulch ready to add to your vegetable garden. You should always ensure your compost heap receives sufficient heat in order to destroy seeds that may be present from lawn clippings and weeds. Suitable ingredients for your compost heap includes old hay or straw, vegetable scraps, shredded paper, lawn clippings & animal manure. Avoid things like Orange peel, onion skins and meat scraps. If you live in a unit or have a small backyard, you might have vegetables growing in pots. An ideal way to make compost in these situations is with a small worm farm. The worms create enough compost (called vermicast) to feed your potted vegetables throughout the year. All your household scraps and waste paper can be added to the worm farm. This is an ideal start for creating an Organic Garden System. Eric J. Smith is an Organic Gardener and passionate Environmentalist. He is dedicated to promoting the need for an Organic, Natural World. If You Really Love Me

By Dr. Noelle Nelson Your new love is such a delight! What passion, what wonderful desire to be with you, only you, day and night, night and day! What a refreshing change from the last few men youve dated whose idea of commitment was dinner and a movie on Saturday night, maybe. Since that first blissful day you met, quite by accident, when your dog and his got all tangled up in their leashes outside the local Starbucks, youve been joined at the hip. How your life has changed in 3 short weeks! Youre positively glowing. Of course youve been ignoring your friends, forgetting about yoga class, and excusing your way out of your usual visits to family, but so what? Youre much too happy to bother with anything but him, him and him. A few more weeks of this, and youre beginning to float back down to earth. As much as you adore him, you miss your friends, are beginning to feel flabby, and are getting a serious case of the guilties over not checking in with family. So you say Hon, Im going to spend the evening over at Helens were getting together, just the girls, expecting him to say Oh, thats nice have a good time, Ill see you when you get in. Instead, you get Why? I thought you were going to spend the evening with me, when indeed you had no such plans. Uh, well, Ive kind of been neglecting my friends, you say, and anyway, its just for a few hours. I see, he says, cold as ice. Your heart plummets, Whats wrong? you panic, watching your love disintegrate. Nothing, he says, Nothing at all. You just go on and have a good time with your friends. Now he is not only icicle tongued, hes not looking at you. Hes dropped onto the sofa and appears to be taking great interest in Architectural Digest. Your Architectural Digest that hes never even glanced at before. No, go, really he says, finally looking up at you, with a sort-of smile. OK, you say, unsettled, but off you go. Exactly one hour later you get the first call. You answer your cell, surprised its him. He wants to know when youre coming home, he misses you. Surprised and somewhat confused, you tell him youll be back in an hour or so. In an hour, you get another call: are you all right? Hes worried, you said youd be home by now. Somewhat embarrassed, you leave your friends. You get several more calls on your way home, all protestations of missing you and cant wait to see you. On the one hand youre flattered, on the other it feels kind of creepy. And when you get home, he holds you tight and says If you really loved me, you wouldnt make me worry like this. Promise you wont do it again. But I just went to spend a little time with friends, you protest. You dont really love me, he says. I do! you cry. Then you wont leave me alone like that, he says, and his kisses melt you into agreeing, yet all the time you wonder what spending time with friends has to do with you loving him. Absolutely nothing. It does, however, speak to a major control issue. Controlling individuals want you to spend all your time only with them, or, put another way, they want your total and complete attention. Even when a controlling individual doesn't want you around, they expect you in some way to be giving them attention (thinking about them, doing for them) and they don't want you giving your time and attention to anyone else unless it is part of - doing something for them. Don't fall into the trap of "if you really loved me you'd spend more time with me," or any variations on that theme. Someone who tries to guilt you into spending more time with you isn't being loving, they are being manipulative. As the relationship grows and develops over time, your respective activities and interests naturally integrate into the relationship, and your time together will naturally shift and change accordingly. The key word is time, not "time" as in "more time with the new person," but "time" as in take the time to see how the various parts of your lives shift and change to fit well together before you give heart and soul away. HIPAA And How It Will Affect Your Office

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michele_Redmond] Michele Redmond This information is designed to help you better understand HIPAA and to assist your office in becoming HIPAA compliant. The information was obtained from a variety of sources and is not intended to be legal advice. If you are having difficulty understanding any portion of the HIPAA regulations you should consult your legal counsel.
First, there are no HIPAA police. No one is going to come into your office to inspect you to see if you are HIPAA compliant. A complaint must be filed in order for any action to be taken. What is HIPAA? HIPAA stands for The Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act. It was enacted by the federal government in 1996 as part of a healthcare reform effort. HIPAA is intended to ensure confidentiality of all patient related health care information. It also intends to simplify the administrative processes of health care, thereby reducing the costs and administrative burdens of health care. One thing to remember is that the HIPAA Act uses the word reasonable several times. You and your office staff must do whatever reasonable to protect your patients privacy. For instance, smaller medical offices do not have to take the same privacy measures as large hospitals do. That would not be reasonable. Also, there are no privacy police. No one is going to come in and inspect your office randomly. Someone must file a complaint first. The complaints will be handled by the Office of Civil Rights. If someone puts in a complaint, then it will be investigated. The fines are very high, so you will want to be sure that your office has good privacy practices and that they are followed all of the time. Another thing to keep in mind is that the type of your practice may determine the level of privacy that you need to acquire. For example, patients in an optometrists office may not be as concerned about people knowing they are there, as opposed to patients in a mental health office.
There are several different components of HIPAA, each one having its own implementation date. Section 2: The Privacy Component : implementation date: April 2002 1. You must do everything within reason to protect your patient's privacy. 2. Patient's files and information should be kept in a secure section of your office, a section that is not accessible by other patients. 3. Charts should not be left lying around, open where someone can read it. 4. If you are making a phone call about a patient or to a patient, you need to do it from an area where you cannot be overheard if you will be giving out personal information. For example, if you are calling their insurance company, and you will be saying the patient's first and last name, date of birth, ID#, and/or a diagnosis, then you do not want to do it where others, perhaps in a waiting room, can hear you. 5. If patient's charts are ever removed from the office you need to have a policy in place. For example, you should have a sign out sheet which states the patient's name, date taken, by whom, and then signed back in when the chart is returned. 6. If charts are removed , they should be carried in a case that is marked confidential - medical records. If you were ever involved in an accident, or separated from the bag for any reason, either authorities or medical personel would secure the information for you. Or you would have at least done whatever reasonable to protect that information. 7. If computer screens are in a position that patients can view them, you may want to move them, or get a screen cover. A screen cover makes it so that the computer screen can only be read when directly in front of it.
The above are just some things that you will need to consider when becoming HIPAA compliant. Each office will have its own areas that need to be reviewed. The above are many of the common areas. Section 3: Administrative Simplification: compliance date: October 2002 This component requires the standardization of data transmissions, or EDI, and procedure/diagnosis codes. As for the standardization of procedure/diagnosis codes, this just means that you must use CPT-4 codes for procedure codes and ICD-9 codes for diagnosis codes. As for the standardization of EDI, that refers to your electronic billing. In order to submit your claims electronically, you must do so in a HIPAA compliant format. Section 4: Security Component: no implementation date set yet This component requires that health care professionals, Billing Services, and clearing houses take appropriate security measures to assure that health information pertaining to an individual remains secure and is not accessible by others. Things to consider: Where is your fax machine? Is it in a place where only office staff can access incoming faxes? Is it on 24 hours a day? When you are not in the office (after office hours) can anyone else access your fax machine?
Whenever you fax personal information about a patient you should use a fax cover sheet with a confidentiality statement. The statement should explain that the following fax contains personal medical information and that if the fax is received by anyone other than the intended party, that the fax should be destroyed and they should notify you that it was received in error. Do you hire a cleaning person/crew? Are they in the office when you are not? Do they have access to the patients personal information? You may want to ask them to sign a confidentiality statement. Do you rent office space? If yes, does your landlord have access to your office? Do they ever enter your office without you being present? If they do, you may want to ask them to sign a confidentiality statement. By asking people who have access to your office to sign a confidentiality statement, you are making a reasonable attempt to protect your patients privacy. It is not always reasonable to never allow anyone access to areas that contain private information. If those people sign an agreement and then breech that agreement, you would not be held responsible. If you do any business by email, you will need to use an encryption service. This will ensure that if anyone were to intercept your emails, they would not be able to read them. Section 5: Privacy Officer All offices must designate a mandated privacy officer. This person would be responsible for making sure all staff are HIPAA trained and that privacy policies are typed up and followed. They would also be the person that staff members or patients could go to with any concerns or questions about HIPAA compliance. Even if you are a very small practice, you MUST have someone designated as the privacy officer. It may even be the Doctor themself. Section 6: Release of Patient Information/Consent You need to have the patients written consent in order to release any of their records/information. (Exception: If request is due to immediate/urgent care of patient.) You should review your current consent and authorization forms to make sure they are HIPAA compliant. HIPAA requires you to obtain consent for the use and disclosure of information from each of your patients. You may refuse to treat patients who will not sign the consent form. Section 7: Unique Identifiers: No implementation date set yet HIPAA will mandate the use of unique identifiers. More to come on this component. Most likely you will have one national provider number, instead of a different provider number for each insurance company. Section 8: Policies and Procedures Required by HIPAA 1. Identify people on your staff who require access to protected health information. 2. Prevent access to protected health information by unauthorized persons. 3. Ensure that the minimum necessary amount of information is released for routine disclosures (only release information pertaining to what is requested, not the patients entire file.) 4. Verify the identity of the requestor of information. 5. Provide patients access to their records, the opportunity to request corrections, and access to and accounting of disclosures. 6. Every office must have written policies regarding privacy practices. Summary Evaluate your physical office for potential privacy and security risks. One of the best things that you can do to become ready for HIPAA is to walk through (better yet - have someone else walk through) your office as if you are a patient. Look around at EVERYTHING. What do you see? Do you see any personal patient information, charts in full view? Start right from the front door, and go through every room in your office, especially the rooms that patients have access to. Then continue to do periodic checks to ensure ongoing compliance. Make sure that you have written policies regarding any privacy practices, such as removing charts from the office, faxing patient information, reviewing any complaints from patients, etc. Also, make sure you designate a privacy officer. Make sure all staff members are trained regarding HIPAA policies. Remember to train any/all new employees regarding HIPAA policies. You should also review your current HIPAA policies regularly. Finding the Best Payday Loan

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Hugh_Thorpe]Hugh Thorpe Unfortunately there are times when we just don't have enough cash to make it to the next paycheck. Unexpected car repair expenses or medical bills can quickly eat up our entire paycheck and leave us wondering how we are going to make it to the next payday. Thanks to a wide variety of services on the market there is help for those who need it. Unfortunately, not all companies are created the same and many will try to take advantage of consumers who are in need of assistance. We'll show you how to choose the best payday loan source for your cash needs. Cash advances on your credit cards can be a costly expense, often with interest rates approaching 35% or more. For this reason people sometimes will turn to local paycheck advance services that will loan money until you get paid again for a modest fee or interest rate. For some of these services the rate will be much lower than what you would be able to get on your credit card for taking an advance. To find such an establishment you should consult your local yellow pages which will often list them under a category of "Cash Advance" or "Loan Services". Next, comparison shop by visiting several and finding out what their interest rates are for the money. Make sure you get the final, full payment you will be required to make. Often consumers get themselves into perpetual debt by not realizing that they are only paying the interest on the advance and not the principal when making weekly payments. Also check with your local Better Business Bureau who maintains ratings on such companies. Be wary of any company with a lot of complaints that are unresolved. It could be a sign of questionable business practices and a road to even more debt that you don't need. Women Want an Attractive Man Just As Much As a Man Wants a Smart and Intelligent Woman

By Teddy Shabba Do you know why women usually do not care about how old, handsome, wealthy, physically fit, or balding a man is? Because they are emotional creatures and none of that other stuff plays as large a role as a man who knows how to play with her emotions. Yes for many women all those other features play an important part just like how smart, intelligent, and wealthy a woman is plays a part in how attractive a man finds a woman. Every single man and many men in relationships can be had by a hot and sexy woman even if for only a few nights. The reason why many hot chicks are really crazy is because most men allow them to be and a hot woman who is just a little slow or not as intelligent as the next girl is going to attract more men than a really smart girl who is just a little less attractive than the next girl. The same can also be said of women when it comes to a man who can touch and play her emotions. The big difference is that men who are in control of their realities are not going to except a woman based solely on her looks whereas a woman in control of her reality who finds a man who knows how to touch her emotions is going to find it very difficult too let him go. No matter his age, race, wealth, status, looks, or any other thing. Of course she might have to hide the relationship and in that case many men are going to simply walk away but a woman in love who has Love as her #1 Value is going to do anything for a man who touches her emotions. When it comes to women Love is blind although for me Love is a Woman who is 5'5 with a pretty face size C cup and a little bitty waist with a nice booty. When The Job Kills, What Next?

By Laurie Sheppard You say the job is killing you. Here are some questions to help you assess your situation clearly before you chuck it all. What happened, you or them? Somewhere along the line things changed. Your role shifted. Your work became redundant. Your boss became unbearable. Your co-workers dont respect you anymore. Something started looking different. How much of this is due to other people and what is your responsibility? Is the problem all work-related or have you experienced changes in your personal life? Determine the weak links, because wherever they are, if you dont identify them and correct them now, youll bring those problems with you to your next job. Do you know your strengths and weaknesses? If the problem centers with you, then before you decide on a career change, go to counseling, hire a coach, or do what it takes for you to regain your confidence and be able to make a clear, reason-based decision. You cant afford to be one of the walking wounded at this job or in looking for new work. If you try to pass yourself off as passionate and ready for new opportunities, then you will likely show up as inauthentic. Its time to do an assessment of your strengths and weaknesses - behaviorally and in transferable skills. Sit down. Write them out. Undervaluing as well as over-inflating yourself and your capabilities does a disservice to your job search. Accurately assess the expertise you bring to this field or any new field youre considering. What do you want? If you dont clearly visualize your ideal work, youll always be treating symptoms of a deeper pain of dissatisfaction. What excites you? Where do you shine? What are your high-priority values? What do you prefer but could live without? What do you absolutely want in your work type and work environment? What would you be giving up? Assess your pain quotient. No one else can do that for you. Your current gripes may have caused you to lose touch with what benefits the job held in the first place. Make a list of positives and negatives to rate your job experience. Its important to know what youll be giving up or, if you stay, what youll change to stop the pain. Weigh the positives against any risks in not being able to replace them in new work. Will you jog or sprint to the exit door or avoid it altogether? If you have decided its worth staying where you are, whats possible to change? You might be able to offload or share undesired duties, such as extensive business travel, late night or weekend work. Set up talk time with your supervisor to make changes and lay out a recommended plan of how it can still work well without you doing it. If you can hire your own assistants, then do it. If youve decided to leave the job, be sure your resources are in place and you can cope with a temporary lack of security. Devote this time to reevaluating your needs and laying out a clear job search action plan. However, if you have a low threshold for uncertainty, or cant permit a break in income, line up a new job that meets all your criteria first. With any of these choices to stay, go now or leave later, youll need patience to accept the transition time. Yet, isnt it worth it to know youre the one creating the opportunity for more fulfilling work? Thinking of leaving your job? Here are the important issues to weigh. Not sure you shouldnt stay and work out the problems? Measure the risks against the benefits. How To Build A Website For Google Adsense Revenues

By Robert Thatcher There's plenty of competition on the net, and you have to corner your market to turn a profit. Google AdSense has created an easy way to generate revenue on your website. Unlike other forms of advertising, Google AdSense does not require the same investment before you start seeing a profit. If you want to build a website to earn Google AdSense advertising revenue, just follow these four basic steps for joining the Google AdSense program. 1) Choose a topic for content on your website.
