A Personal Loan Can Make Your Dreams Come True

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Pranav_Das]Pranav Das The greatest irony of human beings is that they are never satisfied with their lives. Once we used to be food gatherers and hunters. Later we learnt to cultivate crops and cook food. Development took its own course and now we are in the ultra modern world. Today, technology has become a part and parcel of our lives. In every sphere of life we have to deal with technological equipments. And why should we not use them, after all they make our lives easy and comfortable. Today, we have luxurious cars, air conditioners, television sets, 3G mobile phones and a lot of other things at our disposal. But, most often we fall short of money to buy such items. Availing personal loans is an easy option in such cases. personal loans are a loan that is specially designed to meet your personal needs. And personal needs may vary from one person to another. One can use a personal loan to buy a new car. One can use it to finance ones holiday tour. One can utilise the money to fund ones higher education. One can use it for home renovation or buying expensive household items. So, there is no end to the uses of personal loans. You can use it for as many purposes you can think of. There are two kinds of [http://www.chance4finance.co.uk/personal-loans.html]personal loans available in the market. One is called a secured personal loan whereas the other is called an unsecured personal loan. A secured personal loan, as the name suggests is secured for the lender. It is given against collateral that is usually your house. So the lender is at low risk. In a secured personal loan the rates of interest are low. Also, the monthly installments are small and the repayment period can be long and flexible according to your suitability. On the other side an unsecured personal loan is charged with a bit higher rate of interest. As the creditor grants such loans without any collateral he is at high risk. Also, an unsecured personal loan has bigger monthly installments and shorter repayment period. Since the lenders are secured in allotting a secured personal loan they do not hesitate to grant huge amount of money, whereas its difficult for the borrowers to take large amount of money in an unsecured personal loan. Secured personal loans involve valuation of your house and much paper work so they take much of your time. But unsecured personal loans are approved very fast as they are free from the annoying work of valuation of property and paper work as such. Data on the Road With Your Cell Phone

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sam_Michelson]Sam Michelson Finally you're spending the weekend at your friend's cabin up at the lake. You managed to sneak your laptop up there because you know you'll need to check your e-mail at least once or twice while you're out of town. If there happens to be Ethernet or Wifi available you'll be in luck - just plug in and you'll be ready to go! But what if you are in a secluded area? How should you get online? Sometimes the best solution is to either have a cell phone or cell phone/PDA that acts as a modem, my favorites are the T-Mobile Sidekick and Treo 650.If you have a way to dial in to your ISP this can be a solution. AOL has local numbers around the US for example. The speed will be slow and you may need to pay roaming charges if you happen to be roaming on a different network, but you will be online! Keep in mind that some but not all phones can be used as a modem and even then some require a wired connection. If you're lucky you'll have one that works via IR (infared) or Bluetooth, so they can talk wirefree to your computer. Sometimes a phone will have multiple ways to connect to a laptop - choose Bluetooth over IR. USB is also a fine choice if you don't mind wires. Using USB is easiest - you just plug the USB cable into the phone and the other end plugs into a USB port on your laptop. Connecting via Bluetooth means that you will need to PAIR the devices first. This means they need to identify each other and talk to each other when they are in range (about 30'). You will need to turn on your Treo 650's bluetooth function and then make sure it is "discoverable". Then turn on your laptop's bluetooth, pair the two devices. You are now ready to dial up your ISP. You have two options. Use the cell phone as a traditional modem - using your voice minutes to transfer data. This will usually be very slow, but if you have free nighttime calling this may cost you nothing. The other option is to subscribe to your carrier's data service. Prices range from $5/month for limited data service on some carriers, to $50/month on other carriers for unlimited data service. The norm is about $20-$30/month for unlimited service. This enables you to use your cell phone as a modem all the time even at home and minutes of internet do not count toward your monthly minutes. This service will usually require a "dial-up script" which you can get from the carrier or sometimes directly from the phone manufacturer's website. This script gets installed on your laptop. Another option is to get a cellular card for your laptop. This is a modem/card that automatically accesses the internet via the cellular service. These come with a subscription in most cases. If you need to be online and you can't wait to find Hotspots each time you need access - this is the way to go. Prices per month range from $29.99 to $79.99 depending on the carrier and level of service. A few final words: - Turn off bluetooth when you aren't using it - it drains the battery faster than when you have it turned off. - If you don't have Bluetooth on your laptop you can buy a Bluetooth Adapter (often called a Bluetooth Dongle) for about $19. -I recommend buying one branded by Linksys, Netgear or some other well-known company. There are some cheaper ones coming out of China that require special setup on your laptop and may not be as reliable. Grooming Tips for Men

By Sheila Dicks Taking care of your hair, skin, eyebrows etc. is not just for women. If you are wearing the most fabulous suit in the most striking color and have not paid attention to grooming, you loose all points and even worse the promotion, job or client. Where do you start? Cleanliness: Showering every morning, using deodorant, brushing your teeth and using mouthwash are the basics. It probably seems simple, but these are aspects of grooming that are often overlooked. Skin Care: Gone are the days when good complexions were only for women. Men want to have good complexions also. It is difficult to look healthy and successful if your skin is dry, oily or breaks out. There are lots of skin care products on the market for men and one trip to a beauty advisor will help you decide which products are best for your skin. If you have a normal skin type with naturally clear skin, you are blessed. Keep your skin looking great by using a cleanser and moisturizer formulated for normal skin types. If you have oily skin and are prone to breakouts use products formulated for oily skin. Hair: Your hair is a very important aspect of your appearance. Start by keeping it clean and in place. Get a good haircut that you can manage easily, untidy hair is not appropriate for business. * Go easy on gel or spiked hair in business situations * Dont part your hair down the centre centre parts dont look great on many men. * If you color your hair have it done by a professional on a regular basis. * Dont neglect the back of your head you dont want to look like you just took a nap. Nails: Keep your nails in good condition. Dont chew them down to nothing or have them dirty. Eyebrows: Keep eyebrows trimmed. Bushy long eyebrows wont add to your business look. Fragrance: Avoid wearing strong fragrances in business situations. Since so many people have allergies to fragrances more and more work environments have a fragrance free policy. A person should only be able to detect your fragrance only when very close. Copyright 2007 Sheila Dicks

Including the Groom's Personality in Wedding Planning

By Penny Olson I have been to many incredible weddings in my time. But the celebrations that I remember the most are the ones that include the character and interests of the groom, not just the bride. After all, we are invited to take part in these special days to celebrate the union of two people. Why wouldn't it be a good idea to include things that show the groom's interests and passions, just as much as the brides? You may ask how you can include rugged pastimes, guitars, or sports into your wedding day and still retain class. There are many ways to do this and have a lot of fun in the process. I am going to share stories of two weddings that I have attended and absolutely loved. With both of these weddings, could clearly see and feel that you were there for the couple, not just a day for the bride to feel like a princess. The first was September 28th, 2002. I remember the date well because it was for a friend of mine that I've known since kindergarten. It was an incredible Fall afternoon in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania. The trees were bursting with deep shades of red, gold, purple and orange. The directions were specific until they stated "Once you reach the foothills of Horse Valley, make a right onto the wooden bridge and continue for three miles down the dirt road." We ended up at the Groom's Grandfather's cabin in the woods, the wedding was held in a pavilion that was next to the house. It sat on the edge of a huge lake that had mountains rising on the opposite side that looked as though they were painted in Autumn hues. It was breathtaking! At 6:10pm, the groom's mother came and made an announcement to the 70 guests, that they were about to start. We all took our seats on wooden benches that were lined up along two very wide and deep steps that lead you from the pavilion to a large landing overlooking the lake. To our surprise, the Bride was the first to appear with her Maid of Honor. They walked down from the cabin and onto the landing and waited in front of the incredible backdrop of the mountains. For a few minutes I was a little confused. Where was the groom? Then all of a sudden, way on the other side of the lake, you could see two people in a canoe. It took them a few minutes before they were close enough to see who they were, but sure enough, it was the Groom and his Best Man!! They docked the boat in the sand next to us and walked up, he kissed her on the cheek, and the ceremony began. It was the most romantic thing I had ever witnessed. The second was for two very dear friends of mine, he is a drummer and she is an artist. They had a very small, simple and relaxed wedding in St. Lucia, a beautiful little island in the West Indies. Sixteen of us joined them in their celebration on an incredibly beautiful, breezy day on a cozy resort called Villa Beach Cottages. All of the guests stayed together in a small cluster of cottages on the beach, on the afternoon of the wedding, we met by the pool near a pretty white gazebo. Steel drums rang out lots of fun tunes as we waited for the Bride and Groom to arrive. About fifteen minutes before the ceremony, the Groom came out, he dawned a very casual, white linen shirt and khaki slacks, no shoes! He joined us for a fruity cocktail, Sea Breezes to be exact, and a few laughs before tying the knot. When the ceremony started, we all gathered around a pretty ribbon that laid on the ground in a circle in front of the gazebo. The Bride came out with her father in a very simple and airy, strapless white dress that was accented with Swarovski Crystals, and of course, no shoes! She was carrying the most incredible Swarovski Crystal Bouquet. She looked absolutely stunning because in the sun, the crystals made hundreds of rainbows that shined off of her and everything around her. She also wore a Swarovski Crystal Tiara that seemed to twinkle on top of her head. As she reached her place next to the Groom, we were instructed by the officiant to pick up the ribbon so that we made a ring that started with the Maid of Honor and ended with the Best Man. As the ceremony was proceeding, we passed their rings along the ribbon and blessed them with good tidings for the soon-to-be newlyweds. It was so nice because we all felt that we really got to be a part of their special day. After the ceremony, there were more steel drums with a couple of hours of cocktails and a beach barbeque. We chatted, danced, hung out in the sand, and ate incredible food as the sun set over the ocean. It was great because there were no annoying photographers trying to capture cheesy "moments to cherish", he left after the ceremony and we were the photographers for the reception. We were free to have fun in whatever way we pleased! After the sun went down, they had lit candles in white paper bags that were scattered all over the beach. And since they had rented the whole resort, we weren't on any time constraints, some guests were on the beach until dawn. It was truly a blast!! For the next two days we all stayed on the island and the owner of the resort, a friendly Jamaican man, gave us suggestions of what to do on the island, "It's all about the experience" he continually told us. Some of us explored caves, some went sea turtle watching or shopping at the small markets, while others decided to relax by the pool or on the beach at the resort. At the end of the long weekend, the Newlyweds saw us off and headed to the south of the island for their honeymoon. It was an incredible trip and one that I'm sure that I will never forget. The point of my article is to show how incredible a wedding can be if you consider the tastes and interests of the couple, not just the bride. In so many weddings, the Groom is left in the shadows while the Bride takes most of the glory. And let's face it, there wouldn't be a wedding without him. Best Wishes, and Happy Planning, and most important, Have Fun! Penny Olson is the owner and designer for Brilliant Wedding Jewelry

Marketing Tips That Fit on One Hand

By Leanne Hoagland-Smith Marketing tips that are simple to use and easy to remember work for me. Business is so complex that whatever actions can make life just a little more simple go to the top of my list. The first tip is that marketing must always be directed to the business results. When the business results are not known from the marketing activities, everyone works harder and not smarter. Another tip is one of alignment. All of your marketing strategies should be in alignment with your strategic plan and the desired results that you are seeking from that plan. When your marketing activities are working, dont stop is the third tip. Many times business owners change strategies and tactics to try something new when their current actions are working. This is a big mistake. For example, Ford had a terrific and well known vehicle, the Ford Taurus, that had an incredible loyal customer base. Yet, some marketing genius or Ford executive decided that this well known and branded product needed to be put out to pasture for a new vehicle that began with the letter "F." Ford lost market share when they couldn't afford to lose any customers. Their marketing was working and they changed horses in the middle of the stream. The fourth tip is to focus your marketing message on your customers and not what you do. For example, one of my messages is that "I work with professional service firms and manufacturing companies who frustratedreally frustrated by the lack of results from their people. And no matter what they have done before, they still cant change their results." This tip allow you to become the Red Jacket in the Sea of Gray Suits. These four tips all fit on one hand. The fifth and final one, well, if you need one, that is up to you. Leanne Hoagland-Smith, M.S. is a business coach and executive coach with offices in Indianapolis and near Chicago. She writes, speaks and coaches people in businesses to quickly double or triple results through the creation of an executable strategic plan along with the necessary leadership skills "to pull it off." One quick question,if your people had a disciplined process of personal accountability that ensured the consistent exection of your strategic plan, what would that mean for your business results? 4 Sure-Fire Tips For Effective Weight Loss

By Gary Matthews Are you just plain fed up because you haven't lost weight for a long time now on that latest fad diet, well please stop! Don't even think about trying another diet, because it will only produce the same results as you have already seen before. Have a look at the four sure fire tips found below that are based on "Scientific Principles" that have always been around, but are not followed by the majority of weight loss programs you see these days. So lets have a look: 1. Increasing Your Metabolism In order to produce Sustained, Permanent and Long-Term Weight Loss, it's imperative that you boost your metabolism. And the most effective way to raise your metabolism is to have a greater proportion of functional muscle on your body. The only way to build this lean muscle so you can raise your metabolism is through "Strength Training". There's no other method that works wonders on the Metabolism like Strength Training. By performing Strength Training, you'll effectively increase the amount of functional lean muscle on your body so that your metabolism will elevate. After a Strength Training session your body will undergo a significant increase or "Spike" in Metabolism, which will allow you to burn much more fat then you were able to before. 2. It's All About Lean Muscle "The amount of fat the body can burn is directly related to the more lean muscle your body can hold." If your muscle system can sustain more energy and use this energy significantly when performing strength training, then it will be able to burn off the calories you eat and the excess fat on your body. In other words, if your muscles become stronger and can hold more energy then you should be able to release this energy more efficiently to increase your metabolism, and to burn off excess calories that you have eaten. Once we can build more lean muscle through our own strength, then our bodies will become more efficient at burning fat. It's also the amount of lean muscle on your body that makes you look good Once you burn off the excess fat from your body, the lean muscle underneath your skin will be exposed making you look healthy, energetic, and well toned. 3. Decrease Your Daily Calories For years now, we have been told to use dieting to rid the excess fat from our bodies. The trouble with this concept is that the low calorie restricted diet would throw the body into starvation mode, with the body holding onto the fat and using precious muscle tissue for energy. This would then lower the metabolism causing greater muscle loss and when the diet is broken the unwanted fat would not only return but actually increase because to the lowered metabolism. The way around this is to cut your daily calorie intake by a small amount of calories only. This will stop any starvation mechanisms from clicking in. You can do this by making up a seven day eating plan and writing down every thing you eat for the week, and then work out the calories you have eaten with a calorie counter. Divide this figure by seven and you have your daily calorie value. Decrease daily calorie value by a couple of hundred calories per day and no more. This will generate slow weight loss and the majority will be fat loss only. The daily calories should be consumed during the day with small frequent meals. 4. Fast Walking Burns Fat All you need to do now is incorporate "Fast Walking" into your weight loss program to hasten the burning of excess fat. Not only is fast walking better much easier on the hips, but it also produces a greater percentage of fat loss as opposed to jogging or running. Here are some of the benefits of Fast Walking. Easy to Perform
Most Conventional
All Natural Body Movement
Doesn't Cause Injuries
Can Be Done Anywhere
The Best Minimal Effort Exercise for Fat Loss "I can't stress enough how Fast Walking is necessary in every weight loss program." Your next step? To take what you have just learned and apply them to your weight daily weight loss regime. Gary Matthews is the author of the popular fitness eBooks Maximum Weight Loss and Maximum Weight Gain. The Apple iPhone Goes Wild On The Safari

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ray_Ayuso]Ray Ayuso Apple has certainly put a smart strategy in place with the launch of it's Apple iPhone smartphone. With close integration to its Safari Internet browser, Apple looks set to create another innovative user experience for Apple fans worldwide. The Safari browser till recently had only been available to Mac users. However, with the launch of the Safari version 3.0 (beta) for Windows, Apple looks set to step into the Windows arena, traditionally dominated by incumbent behemoth Microsoft Corp. While we won't expect to see anything similar to the browser wars where Netscape Corp faced off against Microsoft for a share of the browser marketplace, Steve Jobs' announcement at the 2007 Worldwide Developers Conference shows that Apple is serious about Safari's cross compatibility with Microsoft's Windows operating system. Steve Jobs announced that Safari 3 would run on Microsoft's Windows XP and Windows Vista platforms. Apple has tied up alliances with search engine giant Google as well. Safari 3.0 (beta) also works with GoogleDocs and allows for rich formatting in Gmail. These were previously unavailable in earlier Safari versions. Another issue which came up was a security exploit which followed Safari's initial beta release on June 11, 2007. Subsequently a few days later, apple released a Windows 3.01 Safari update which addressed these security issues. Which brings us to take a closer look at the Apple iPhone smartphone. The iPhone sports a modified version of the Safari browser and it will allow full facilities offered by web pages. Previous smartphones tended to display a condensed or abbreviated versions of web pages. The Safari browser will also serve as a gateway between the iPhone and the user's music collection. Although the exact details aren't available yet, it could be that the Apple's iTunes software could have a part to play in this. Most users however, will not spend excessive amounts of time worrying about the technical details of these software issues. What they will experience however, is Apple's attention to detail and a pleasant user experience. Being able to transfer data, music and other digital media like photos between their iPhones and their laptop or desktop will be something they can certainly look forward to. It may seem strange, but with one fell swoop, Apple's designers would have created a new paradigm shift in the people's thinking about the iPhone and their computer. Rather than regarding them as two separate pieces of equipment, they may start to think of the iPhone and the computer as it's docking station. The seamless transition of iPhone and computer into a single device has begun. Bipolar: Between a Mother and a Son

By Terry Coyier This world affords an abundance of challenges for every parent. Societys standards are ever increasing, yet the day remains a mere twenty-four hours. Juggling different schedules, activities and meals, while trying to cultivate a childs self-esteem can seem overwhelming at times. Does this sound familiar? Now, imagine adding a mood disorder to the equation. Both my son and I share the same diagnosis: bipolar disorder (manic/depression). It makes our world a bit more chaotic, but we still manage to make it through each day. More importantly, we have an extremely close relationship. At the age of twenty-seven, I experienced a mental breakdown brought on by the death of my grandfather. First I was told I had major depressive disorder. Generally, people with bipolar only seek treatment when they are depressed; therefore, they are often misdiagnosed. For many people, it takes years to get a proper diagnosis. I was lucky. Not six months later, I had a severe manic episode. This changed my diagnosis to bipolar. It made more sense to me because I had always been moody, even as a child. I began taking medication immediately. Once stabilized, I remained so for over three years. Nonetheless, in May of 2002, I ceased working. I have since been placed and remain on Social Security Disability (SSI). My son was born just after I turned thirty. It was the happiest moment of my life. He was beautiful and healthy. However, as he grew older, I noticed he couldnt concentrate on simple tasks and he was extremely fidgety most of the time. He also had trouble sleeping. These symptoms are often associated with early onset bipolar disorder. I knew that bipolar could be hereditary, so I took him to see a child psychiatrist. His behavior initially fit the criteria for attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). We decided to treat it with medication. In the following six months, I realized he was crying several times a day for no apparent reason. I spoke to his doctor, who agreed this wasnt typical four-year-old behavior. We added an antidepressant to combat the problem. After another six months, I started to notice that his crying had turned to frustration and fits of rage. Even with medication, he began sleeping as little as four or five hours a night; waking me up at 3:00 AM by jumping on my bed. He said completely inappropriate things at any given moment, in any situation. His behavior was unpredictable, and eventually he was suspended from daycare for hitting one of his teachers. Once again, I consulted with the doctor. We decided to add a mood stabilizer while decreasing, and eventually stopping, the ADHD medications. While my son and I have managed to cope with this disorder, our experience raised a difficult question how do I explain to my son he has a complicated condition, which requires him to take pills daily? When he first went to the doctor, I explained to him that his brain didnt always work the way it was supposed to, and the pills would help. It was a simple enough explanation that he seemed to grasp. When he misbehaved, he would tell me that his brain told him to do it. This would usually happen after he experienced a complete meltdown. His meltdowns consist of: letting out high-pitched screams, crying, trying to run away from me, throwing anything he can get his hands on, hitting anything near him, (including people), and crawling underneath things. Prior to medication, it would take hours for him to calm down; now he can regain control within approximately a half hour. One day, following one of his meltdowns, I did my best to explain to him that I understood his feelings because I was bipolar as well. He seemed shocked when I told him that Mommy didnt always have control over her emotions either. Most children think their parents dont understand what they are going through. I felt it was important for him to know I understood, and I wasnt perfect either. I clearly make mistakes on a regular basis and think its good that he sees them. I always make sure to apologize when my errors involve him. This way he wont be raised with the misguided notion that when he becomes an adult he will suddenly become perfect. Our daily challenges mirror those of most families raising a child. He wants to stay up past his bedtime, isnt happy when he doesnt get his way, is grumpy when hes tired, is careless with his toys, loses things, plays too rough sometimes, doesnt want to eat all of his vegetables, wants to watch too much television, etc. I, like most parents, have learned different ways to persuade and barter with him so that he still has fun, yet follows the rules I have in place. The one thing I am careful about is not punishing him for his meltdowns. These are beyond his control and he suffers enough just working through one. Similar to other children, his life also has many positive attributes. He plays baseball and swims. He has a charming personality, loves animals, and is a people pleaser. Hes creative, smart, and extremely affectionate. However, he is different in many ways. He can be happy one minute, running around laughing at nothing in particular and then, without provocation, angry and growling the next minute. He tries to tell adults how to do things. Sometimes, he tells me he is as smart as God. He has a problem with pressured speech, which causes him to stutter frequently. He doesnt easily adapt to new surroundings. He must be gently coaxed into attempting something hes never tried before. Once he tries it, he will usually acclimate to the situation, but often it requires a long period of adjustment. This may not sound different from many other shy children, but more often than not, he becomes frustrated and completely melts down before becoming comfortable. His life can be exceedingly rigorous and, after a meltdown, we always talk about it in depth. I try to help him understand what happened and why he needs to practice his coping skills when he becomes upset or frustrated. Just as he is different from other children, I am different from other parents. My medication does not keep me as stable as I would like; therefore, I still experience mood swings from time to time. My son must deal with these, which is asking a tremendous amount from a six-year-old. He is very understanding and seems to sense when I am depressed or manic. When Im down he will play quietly while I rest. When Im manic and not sleeping well, he tends to wake up in the middle of the night and will come ask me when Im going to bed. This serves as a gentle reminder, helping me realize that Im off-balance. Weve been lucky so far in that we have never been depressed or manic at the same time. While bipolar disorder manifests differently in each person, it also carries many similarities. I recognize that my son has special needs and he, in turn, realizes I do as well. Somehow weve managed to help each other. Our relationship is something that extends beyond the love of a parent and a child its a deep, empathetic understanding shared by two people who suffer from the same illness. Watching my son grow from an infant into a little boy makes me feel magnificent, especially as he overcomes personal obstacles. On the other hand, parenting is frustrating at times. When he is having a meltdown and I cannot reach him, I feel helpless and heartbroken. I realize that every parent must let a child face the trials that life offers, but his exceed the scope of common challenges. As parents know, it is excruciating to watch your child suffer. I simply try my hardest to be the best mom possible to a unique little boy struggling to grow up in todays demanding environment. Terry J. Coyier is a 37-year-old college student studying for an Associates of Applied Sciences degree. She is also a freelance writer who writes about bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses. By James F. Burns This is written with the parent in mind. Projects should be supervised by an adult. Plant Reproduction Project: You will need: 1. A plant. Preferably a fast growing tree or shrub such as a willow or better yet a weeping willow.
2. Very sharp pruners.
3. Some fine potting soil.
4. Some planting pots. What will be doing, is making new plants from existing ones. This is sometimes called "cloning", which is exactly what it is. Some of the more technical terms are, asexual reproduction, and propagation. This has been done almost from the beginning of time, but is as fresh and new, as genetic engineering, and tissue culture reproduction. Cloning a plant by making a cutting, is really not much different from the tissue culture process, it is just using more cells. Tissue cultures take a few cells, and reproduce an entire plant from them in laboratory conditions. What we will be doing is taking a pretty large number of cells, and reproducing a tree in your garage, or classroom. The Steps: 1. Fill your pots with soil. Make more than you want to keep, because some of them will not make it. and you may want to use some of them to demonstrate what is happening to your student.
2. Take cuttings from your plant material. These should be fresh, woody tissue ( green cuttings can often be rooted in a glass of water) about 4 to 6 inches in length, and have a bud no more than a quarter inch from the bottom of the cutting, and one or more buds, closer to the top. Make the cuttings at an angle, and make sure there are no ragged edges, or loose bark. A sharp knife can be used to trim them back if needed.
3. Poke a hole in the potting soil inside the pot, and insert the cutting. Pack the soil gently but firmly around it and water it, being sure that there are no voids or air pockets. You should try to make sure that there will ultimately be an out door destination for these trees, so that they can grow with your students. The results of a child watching a living thing that he or she had a part in, is amazing! This is what happens: 1. In a few days, you will notice the upper buds beginning to elongate and create shoots.
2. Below the soil line, and a little later in the process, the bud near the bottom will begin to heal the cut, and produce callous.
3. The calloused area will begin to produce roots. and soon, a viable new clone, with all the genetic characteristics of the parent plant will come about. Why this happens: The science behind this is, that the growth, reproductive, and healing mechanisms embedded in the genetic code of the cutting take over, and try to heal the plant, finding the need to reproduce leaves for photosynthesis, and roots to get nutrients. This occurs more readily at the plants growth points, such as junctions and buds, these areas contain a higher concentration of growth cells, and therefore heal and reproduce more quickly. Lessons: Plant growth, Genetics, Cloning, genetic engineering, and a wide variety of other subjects can be used for further research for your child. This opens up a world of topics! NOTE: It may also be of benift, to explain that this plant now has all the genetic characteristics of the mother plant, both good and bad, and help them understand the need for bio diversity. It could also be used as a springboard into a history discussion about such events as the Irish potato blight, and the North American chess nut blight, both events being the result of not having bio diversity. 5 Quick Gardening Tips to Save You Money

By Kathy Swann Its easy to spend a fortune every year creating a beautiful yard. These five tips can help save you money in both this, and future gardening seasons. 1. Plan your vegetable garden according to what your neighbors are planting so you can share your vegetables when theyre ready for eating. Often Ive had too many of one kind of vegetable I couldnt give away because my friends were ripe at the same time. 2. Select perennials rather than annuals for your flowerbeds. As they multiply each year, cut them back and exchange with your friends so you both have lovely gardens and save money at the same time. 3. Compost your kitchen scraps, as well as your coffee grounds. The end result is much better than any potting soil you can ever get buy from a nursery or hardware store. The price is right, and this is definitely recycling! 4. Instead of using mulch, try pebbles or small rocks in your garden as ground cover. This will save you lots of cash since you wont need to buy mulch in the spring and fall of every year. 5. Spend more money now by purchasing better quality gardening tools and you will save in the long run. They will last for years, saving you dollars because you dont need to replace them every planting season. Same goes for gardening gloves- make sure you buy the best you can afford so they last all season. Happy Gardening! Contact Dermatitis and Chlorine

By Nick Wright Many people are unaware that they have contact dermatitis. Others are accumulating chemical exposure that will eventually cause it! This allergic skin condition is identified by skin that is red, dry, itchy, scaly or blistered. It could also be covered with a pink or red rash. Contact dermatitis is caused by elements such as poison ivy/sumac/oak, formaldehyde, chlorine, or chemicals contained in grooming or beauty products. Should the condition affect areas over the whole body, the irritant source may be soap or laundry detergent. If replacing these products does not result in improvement, the person may have developed a reaction to the chlorine found in water. Since the treatment of contact dermatitis starts by eliminating the irritant, its necessary to remove chlorine from the water used for showers. This can be done in 3 ways: A carbon activated water filter can absorb chlorine, but does not work well with warm water. Most such filters have short lives, due to becoming clogged with contaminants. Another anti-chlorine agent used in shower filters is identified as KDF, or Kinetic Degradation Fluxion. This type of media relies on a metal alloy consisting of copper and zinc to reduce free chlorine. It works better with warmer temperatures, but water with weak pressure may not be able to pass through the KDF media, and the chlorine may not be thoroughly removed. Vitamin C - Naturally Better!

The third way is to utilize a shower filter which relies on ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) or sodium ascorbate. These natural agents neutralize chlorine, and being organic, are the safest way to dechlorinate water. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has declared this the least toxic method, and the medical community uses it in conjunction with dialysis treatments. A product called Vitashower utilizes this process, enabling chlorine to be turned into a harmless compound instead of being contained inside the filter. This equates to a dechlorinating shower filter with a longer life, handling up to a years worth of showers, or 15,000 gallons of water. In addition, water pressure, temperature and quality do not affect the Vitashowers effectiveness! The Vitashower shower filter is screwed onto the shower arm before the shower head, with no further maintenance required. A transparent window will display the Vitamin crystals so that it is clear to see when they have dissolved and the unit needs to be replaced. For a small monthly cost, the Vitashower provides chlorine-free water with added nutrients! There is no longer any reason to worry about a red, unattractive skin condition, when Vitashower removes the chlorine that causes it! Ronin Online - Vitashower USA

Urgent Treatment For Dissociation: Try Outpatient Intensive Trauma Therapy Instead Of Hospital

By Louis Tinnin Is There No Hope?
The urgent problem is usually uncontrolled flashbacks with personality switching and self-mutilation. It is frightening and you just know that your loved one (or your patient if you are the therapist) has to be locked up and restrained to gain control. If this has happened before you also know that it will be traumatizing for the patient, not to mention, yourself. It seems too late to find other options and if you have been down this road before you have lost hope that any options for decent, respectful care exist. There Is Hope
Increasingly, knowledgeable and compassionate therapists who have learned how to provide precise treatment procedures to manage and cure dissociative disorders are offering decent outpatient treatment. Their method depends on an intensive marathon treatment approach in the hands of a team of highly trained professionals using art therapy, hypnosis, and video therapy. The treatment is one-to-one and does not use restraints or drugs. A Scientifically Developed Intensive Trauma Therapy
The treatment is new although it has been in development for 15 years. It began as a new application of the oldest methods of treating trauma, dating from the 1800s in Paris, France, when Pierre Janet learned how to cure these conditions, then called hysteria. The new methods use modern neuroscientific knowledge and modern technology in applications that were developed at West Virginia University and a Veterans Administration hospital and finally completed in an independent Trauma Recovery Institute. The treatment became a brief intensive approach after the discovery of a safe method for rapid trauma processing that avoided emotional re-living of the trauma. The Key Discovery
Pierre Janet and his followers applied their cure in a diligent and long-term manner taking care to stabilize their frightened patients and give them time to gradually gain and work through insight into their subconscious mind. The modern discovery shed light on the evolutionary survival strategies that emerge in a persons instinctual trauma response. This discovery revealed that certain reparative tasks could reconstruct the traumatic memory as an unthreatening fact of history now devoid of danger. The treatment process requires simply the completion of specific reparative tasks and does not require periods of working through. The treatment needs to be only as long as the time required for completing the tasks. Marathon Treatment
Once therapists learned that trauma therapy could proceed without waiting for insight to percolate over time they tried to condense treatment procedures into a marathon approach. Instead of scheduling one hour a week for a year they scheduled the same number of hours, one after the other, in a two-week period (10 days with the week-end off). They found to their delight that patients not only tolerated the marathon treatment but found it to be more desirable than the conventional schedule. Measures of outcome at one week, three months, and six months showed an excellent result. The final outcome of the first 50 dissociative patients (DDNOS: 37, DID: 13) Showed 31% recovered, 53% improved, 12% unchanged, and 4% worse. Where Is It Available?
Therapists are being trained to deliver intensive trauma therapy. Solo practitioners have located in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and California but the team approach is still available only in Morgantown, West Virginia. The marathon approach is still not covered by any health insurance. Even so, he demand is increasing and it is likely that this treatment will be widely available in the near future. Louis W. Online Loans Made Easy

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Noel_Hynes]Noel Hynes What will it take for you to get a low interest, low payment loan? The answer to that question could be an online loan from one of the many companies that specializes in granting online loans, or e-loans. Some analysts forecast that as more and more customers expect better interest rates, and as competition for their business intensifies, loan institutions will focus even more on their efforts to lure as many customers as possible to use their services, and online loan institutions are no exception. Both traditional lenders from financial institutions such as banks, mortgage lenders and credit unions as well as on-line lenders compete fiercely for the privilege of lending money. Incentives such as zero percent or low-interest-rate financing, giveaways, and cash rebates are just some of the ways to gain your business. All this appears to be great for consumers, but the wise person must discern between true incentives and come-ons by deciding whether a rebate or a super-low interest rate is most beneficial. A rebate is not a bargain if the interest rate makes the pay-off on the loan higher. Online loans are quick, convenient and easy. Just fill out an application from your computer. You are usually approved or disapproved within a matter of minutes. But before you begin the application process, there are basic matters that you should be aware of. Your credit rating can affect the amount of the loan and the interest rate of your online loan. Check your credit score before you start looking for a loan. Having a high credit score will result in a better interest rate than a poor score. If you are considered a credit risk, many lenders will work with you, but your loans may have a much higher interest rate. It's important to clear up your credit problems before you apply for an online loan to help you negotiate for the best loan possible. Not knowing your credit score may hinder your efforts. As with traditional loans, you should always comparison shop when searching for an online loan. If you are making a high-dollar purchase such as a home or a car, it is advantageous to be pre-approved for your loan to keep your financial arrangements out of negotiations on the price. Online loan institutions may be of tremendous help in this area. You should focus on the overall amount of the online loan as well as the interest rate. There are several online sites where prevailing interest rates can be viewed to help you decide which online loan institution to use. The overall length of the loan is another factor to keep in mind, as the length of the loan decides what your monthly payment is going to be. Obtaining a short-term loan could save many dollars in interest. Online loans are relatively easy to get if you have a good credit rating. The usual purpose of an online loan is to finance a home or automobile. Online lending institutions realize that the loan is backed by collateral, and they are not likely to lose money if you fail to pay the loan. Online loans are just one more way to make your search for money to finance your purchase easy and convenient. Online institutions will make every possible effort to approve your loan because doing so benefits the lender as well. Bridal Beauty and Makeup Tips

By Natalie Aranda The wedding day is not only the big event in a woman's life, but also the day in which all the guests' eyes are upon the bride, who is radiant from happiness, wanting to look picture-perfect for her big day. Bridal makeup tips, along with the proper hair care are basic to look and feel that way. Since the very moment after the bride and groom have officially announced their engagement, planning for the wedding day should include the searching for wedding hairstyles and makeup tips. If the "Big Day" is on its way, keep in mind that it is best to look like yourself, but emphasizing special features of your face. Your eyes are the window to your soul, so give them the proper frame applying a few of the eye makeup tips that you can easily find online, browsing magazines or asking a beauty advisor. However, not only the eyes, remember that there are a number of different makeup tips to help you look like a movie star. Although hair care may continue as an ordinary activity, it may require particular attention in accordance to the different wedding hairstyles that you select in advance of your bridal gown. It is highly advisable to make the definite selection based on your wedding dress, but you must try several hairstyles before deciding on one of them. Eye makeup tips should be practiced ahead of time to guarantee you will not look like a makeup experiment as a worse scenario. Curling your lashes to make your eyes open and stick to dark colored mascaras will make you look more natural, but if you want to add a dramatic effect, line your lower lashes. Bridal makeup tips are enclosed with a simple concept: less is more. Because everybody will be looking at you on your wedding day, do not pretend to put all the makeup in the world all over your face. Masquerading yourself behind a heavily painted face will make you look artificial, particularly if you do not wear too much makeup in your every day activities. Your diet and lifestyle will reflect in both your skin and your hair so the healthier your diet, the more beautiful you will look on the Big Day. Hair care should include a treatment with olive oil applied only on the hair's ends at bedtime and washing it off the next morning. Trim your hair every 4 to 5 weeks even if you are growing it for an updo, and do not brush it when it is wet. Healthy hair deserves an exceptional hairdo chosen from the many wedding hairstyles, including updos, medium hairstyles, curly hairstyles and even celebrity hairstyles, just make sure to discuss with your stylists the different styles and test those that you would like to wear on your wedding day. More Dating - More Regrets!

By Graham Billingham Dating has never been an easy thing to do. It is one of the most complex things in life, just preceding being in a relationship. First thing is that you would need to find a date, which could be tougher for the socially challenged people. Then comes the date itself, where one would need to act his or her best and figure out how things will click and wonder if there will be a 2nd date. After a periodic time of dating, more problems and relationships could then arise that could eventually bring in regrets. Here are some most common regrets and disasters that daters often experience. 1. Dating people for the very wrong reasons always result in disasters. There might be some that could pull it off but it could be rare. Some people date for reasons of that person being physically attractive, business reasons, business contracts, sex or even just out of sympathy. We instead should date people who we seem to like because of their great personality or that being a match for us. A friend of mine tried to date a Muslim because she was pretty attractive, eventually things didnt work out because of cultural differences. If you know that you are entering a dating situation where things will really not work out, dont waste your time on it. There could be others out there while youre wasting your time on the wrong person. 2. In our current society most 20 something people will put career ahead of their love life. This is not a bad thing though. But once you hit your 30s you will seem to lose something within you. You will become less attractive because of aging signs. Our body clocks will eventually catch up on us. Also most good catches will be fewer. Try to balance out your career and social life. Having a love life doesnt mean you need to get married and sacrifice your career. It might even inspire you to work harder. Its just how you view the situation. 3. Stupid regrets here, people leave the person they love. Dont know why. If you love the person why leave him or her? Often reasons for a person leaving his or her partner are due to infidelity. If things do eventually go broke it might be too late to go back. I mean if you love the person why be unfaithful? It might be tempting but its only a test of your relationship. Bottom-line, be faithful. 4. Dont be jackass in your relationship. People often regret that they could have been nicer to their partner. It will always haunt you when you treat your partner badly. How could our relationship have ended if I was nicer? Try to be courteous, remembering special dates (no matter how cheesy they are), kind, compromising, getting something special, being spontaneous. Dont be too late to change, because you might regret it. 5. Dont be callous when dumping a person. It definitely hurts and karma has a way of finding you. The Marriage Relationship - 3 Foundation Stones To Building A Lasting Love Marriage Relationship

By Anne Amore Building a strong love marriage relationship is an art. But there are 3 simple-to-remember relationship tips that can ease you both along the pathway to a lifetime of married love, passion and romance. 1. The commitment to love
In getting married, you agree to love one another through thick and thin. But most of us have been fooled into thinking that love is something that we experience and feel rather than something we do. Start to reframe your understanding of what love is. Love in marriage is a verb. You have to work at it. Your commitment is your promise to work at it, throughout your married life. The couples who both work at creating love throughout their married life, get to experience the rewards of an ongoing, blissful love marriage relationship. 2. Marriage is a self-improvement project
Marriage is the start line not the finish line. You thought you could give up and veg out once you've landed that big fish husband of yours? You think you can slob around now you've got a ring on that gorgeous girl's finger? Perish the thought! Carry with you the intention to do better today than you did yesterday. Improve upon the way you interact with your life partner. Keep things fresh. If you mess up, admit it, apologise and loosen up enough to try something new. Take advice from your partner. Be flexible enough to change, to grow and to become something bigger and better than you were before. Keep yourselves healthy and smart. Self-improvement is incredibly attractive and a sure way to keep the fires of passion blazing in your love marriage relationship. 3. The honest mind
Don't be one of those nitwits who think that valuing 'honesty' in a marriage gives them a license to be blunt and cruel. In love marriage relationships, honesty is a willingness to look at yourself and your actions and see where you might be being pig-headed. It means looking at your relationship with a clear head. Examining your soul to see how you can create a better life experience for both of you. It also means communicating clearly with one another. So many marriages founder because of simple misunderstandings. Develop the ability to look honestly at yourself, develop the responsibility to create positive changes, and be willing to reveal and communicate what you find with your partner. Such acts of intimacy forge powerful lasting bonds. Follow in the footsteps of the joyful
Your love marriage relationship is unique. But you will experience similar challenges to every other married couple. Why not shortcut your learning curve and learn from those who are already living successful married lives? Michael Webb took the trouble to interview married couples who fell into the top 1% of those with happy, successful marriages and got them to reveal their strategies for long-lasting married love, romance and passion in The 50 Secrets to Blissful Relationships. It's always so much easier to learn from experienced mentors who've already charted a course through the choppy waters of life. And if you want to guarantee your love marriage relationship grows from strength to strength, be sure to check out that resource. Meanwhile, use the relationship tips above to steer your marriage towards joy, passion and intimacy which will last a lifetime. I wish you great happiness and love in all your moments together. Learn How to Draw The Easy Way Using the Five-S Method

By Will Kalif One of the difficult things about learning to draw is understanding the process an artist uses to go from a blank piece of paper to a completed drawing. The Five-S method is an easy way to understand how an artist does it and how you can do it too. Drawing is not a process where an artist starts at one end of the paper and works his way to the other end and by the time he gets to the right side of the paper the drawing is done. Drawing is a process of creating an object, subject, or scene on paper in stages. With each successive stage the object comes closer to looking realistic. Of course every artist is different and that means that every artist has his or her own process of drawing but they all come down to five simple steps that you can learn and follow. Here are the steps: 1. Silhouette
2. Shape
3. Shade
4. Smudge
5. Shadow This method, called the Five-S method is really easy to follow and you just progress through the steps from beginning to end. Here is an explanation of what each step means. 1 Silhouette: This is the first step. What you do here is look carefully at the subject you are drawing and then in light lines you draw a silhouette of it on the blank piece of paper. In this step you dont have to do just the outside lines of the subject you can do some of the inside lines too. But keep them very scant and very light. 2. Shape: Fill in the internal lines of the subject. Use the strokes and directions of your pencil to represent the shape of the parts of the subject. If a part of the subject is curved you should use curved lines in that area of the drawing and in any flat sections you should use straight lines. But for now you are not filling anything you are just getting the shapes right. 3. Shade: This is where you fill in the shapes with either color or shades of grey. Look carefully at your subject and note how light falls on it. This is the most important aspect of this step because even if a surface is all one color it may have different shades of that color depending on how light affects it. 4. Smudge: You can use your finger for this step but it is preferable to use a blending stump. Very few subjects or objects are composed of sharply defined lines. Everything is composed of subtle gradations of color that flow around and through the surfaces. You should blend the colors on your subject using strokes that follow the shape of the subject rounded areas should be done with rounded strokes etc. 5. Shadow: This is the final step. Look to see how your object or objects cast shadows on themselves or on the things around them and add these shadows. If you are using color in your drawing the shadows should be composed of darker shades of the same color. This will ground your object in reality. You should also use an eraser to erase any graphite or color from areas that have bright light reflections on them. Wardrobe Tips For Your Online Dating Photos

By Tiffani Smith Whether you choose a professional headshot photographer for your online dating photo or you decide to go it alone, you will need to make your photo as attractive as possible. But what is the right look for online dating photos? The answer depends on who you want to attract. Here are some suggestions to help you dress for online dating success. First of all, decide what type of person you want to meet. You might want to meet a professional; a sporty, outdoors type; a book or music lover; or someone who values designer labels. The first tips for making a success of your online dating photos is to wear the kind of clothes that appeal to the person youre trying to attract. If you want to attract a professional, dress like one. If youre drawn to the outdoors type, a more casual look may be better. Choosing Clothes For Online Dating Photos

Whichever look you go for, avoid excessively patterned clothes. These will steal attention from your face, which is the most important part of an online dating photo. Most members of an online dating site look first at the profiles with photos, so this is your best chance to make a good impression. Instead of patterns and checks, go for solid colors. These can be either dark and neutral (which may be better for the professional image) or bright (to make your photo stand out.) When people look at your online dating photo, they will pay attention to your eyes. Avoid covering your eyes with large sunglasses. You should also avoid anything that hides your face. Pull hair off your face and dont wear large hats. If wearing jewelry, keep it understated. In short, avoid anything that takes attention from your face. Setting Up Your Online Dating Photo

Once youve decided on the look you want, its time to set up the photo. Try to get good lighting. Early morning and late evening sunshine are flattering, if the weather is good. Otherwise, take your online dating photo in a well lit room. If you use a professional headshot photographer, he or she will be able to light the studio so you look your best. Leave friends and family at home (except for your chosen photographer) and take the photographs on your own. When your photo is posted online, you want the people who see it to know who they should be looking at. Having other people in the photograph takes the attention off you. Once youve chosen the clothes and location and set up the lighting, theres only one more thing to do to make sure your online dating photo stands out. Smile: this is guaranteed to get attention, as most people are attracted to a smile. Attract More Clients by Raising Your Profile

By Stuart Ayling One of the most common issues I'm asked about is how to raise the profile of a business to attract more clients. This is an important issue no matter how small or large your business may be. For example I'm working with a client in Brisbane who is well established in their industry. They've been operating for many years and have a very good client satisfaction rate. However, their flow of new clients is very unpredictable. And there's still a heck of a lot of potential clients who don't even know this firm exists. So I've worked with them to create a program that will lift their industry presence, but in a way that emphasises their highly professional approach and expertise. This means they'll be: > Exhibiting at key trade shows where they'll get to meet prospects in person. > Speaking at industry events. > Pro-actively arranging personal meetings with major corporate prospects. > Promoting the business to previous clients and industry contacts. > Creating a follow up plan for all contacts. > Updating marketing material to address important client concerns (identified through in-house research), including the creation of fact sheets to help clients make the best decision for their circumstances. > Advertising in niche trade publications. You might notice that the first five points all revolve around personal contact. Because many service businesses gain clients through recommendations and networking, it's vital that personal contact is the centre of a service business marketing strategy. Key Point: You must "Structure-in" points of contact. Researchers have shown that prospects buy after having had from 7 to 12 contacts with a business. A contact may be a personal visit or receiving information in the mail. So it's important to try and structure-in as many points of contact as possible with prospects and referrers. I use the term "structure-in" as it makes us focus on the planned nature of the sales process. We need to carefully assess how we can create meaningful points of contact, and how to advance the level of interest clients have in our services as we progress. Another example is a small web design firm based in Sydney. The partners in this recently established business approached me because although they have great web design credentials, they lacked the industry contacts and 'visibility' to attract new clients. As you might guess, their top priority is to get in touch with suitable prospects and start making points of contact. Initially this means: > Quite a deal of networking. > Telephone calls to prospects. > Creating simple yet functional marketing material. > Developing a structure for their sales process. > Conducting informative presentations to small groups of prospects. > Writing topical articles for inclusion in industry specific publications. This type of marketing program concentrates efforts on the key service marketing concepts of: * Networking * Generating referrals * Speaking * Writing * Direct approaches When working on ways to raise the profile of your business, remember prospects are trying to identify a service provider they can rely on to give them the result they are looking for. Key Point: Focus on your knowledge. So don't just focus on your 'technical' skills. Many service providers provide similar services at a technical (or functional) level. Give prospects a good reason for choosing your service over others. Build your profile on your knowledge and insights - show how you can help your clients achieve their objectives. And don't be put off by the nature of the task. Building the profile of your business means getting in front of people. You'll need to do this at networking events, at speaking events, publishing your thoughts, or by directly contacting prospects. If you really dread any form of "self promotion" then you might have to change your thinking. Key Point: Networking works. So use it! However, as a starting point, if you need some tips on the art (and manners) of networking Australian-style then I recommend a visit to Robyn Henderson's site http://www.networkingtowin.com.au/ and Robyn's e-book "Networking for Success" has some great tips on how to do it right. Recent statistics show more and more people are leaving corporate jobs (by choice or force) and moving into self-employment. In the U.S. alone, a new business is formed every 11 seconds. A similar trend is occurring in Australia. So you're not alone in your quest for visibility. Client ahoy! All hands on deck. Hoist the mainsail. Put yer back into it now (c) 2005 Marketing Nous Pty Ltd Stuart Ayling runs Marketing Nous, an Australasian marketing consultancy that specialises in marketing for service businesses. He helps clients to improve their marketing tactics, attract more clients, and increase revenue. Stuart also offers telephone consultations and runs regular marketing seminars. Why Do Some Women Have Trouble Talking to Men?

By Lance Winslow While hanging out at the local Starbucks, I met a lady who was sipping on a Latte not too many moons ago and she had indicated that so often whenever she had conversations with men they did not get excited about talking with her. Of course little did I know that this would become an upcoming topic with our Online Think Tank. It appears that men respond much different than women in conversation and of course these issues tend to make things a little awkward of course. In looking back at the Starbucks encounter it appears that there could be a number of reasons why a woman might find men difficult to get along with. For instance perhaps; She was distracting to them? Maybe they feel intimidated? Since she was tall for a woman maybe they could not look down to her if they are short; might have to look you in the eyes and intimidation sets in? Maybe they are of low-self-esteem and feel inferior next to her achievements? Perhaps she projected an air of self-confidence and this bothers them. Maybe they were awestruck by her beauty? Sorry, I had to throw that last one in for the fun of it. But seriously you know, one would conclude not worry about it much? Perhaps we should ask a tall gal of 6'2" if she feels the same with regards to talking to men, then we might go ask a 5'2" cute gal if she feels the same. What do they say; "The Tallest Candidate" for office usually wins? You see sometimes the reasons for issues such as these are multifaceted and often just an issue of miscommunication? Perhaps you might consider all this in 2007. "Lance Winslow" - Online Think Tank forum board. Filthy Rich Pastors

By Linda Leon Matthew, Mark, Luke and John preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Modern day protestant evangelical ministers according to Time Magazine often push another doctrine they termed the new Gospel of Wealth. The issues seemed to be whether God condones or condemns wealth or whether the doctrine of prosperity is progressive or poison. This article brought my blood to a boiling point, especially when they quoted one TV evangelist as saying Who would want something where youre miserable, broke and ugly and you have to muddle through until you get to heaven? Well, that just wiped out Hebrews chapter 11, the Book of Job, at least 2/3 of the Old Testament and the lives of half the disciples. Oh the saints have muddled through, they were sawn in half, boiled in oil, nailed to cross, burned at the stake, and were often without any financial means whatsoever, praising God to the death. The saints of old would not even recognize a doctrine that ties blessings to how many Benjamins you have. Church services have become milking machines and the congregation is the cash cow. I could just imagine how much money Jesus would have made if he had milked his mega multitudes at the Sermon on the Mount or his feeding of 5,000 plus. It certainly would have been a great day to sell a scroll or two. I will say the prosperity message is of God the day the congregation becomes as rich as the rock star pastor. This will never happen. Prosperity pastors have told their congregations that they will be cursed of God (by misrepresenting Malachi) if they dont give tithes and offerings. What a wonderful way to keep the money flowing. Prosperity pastors have told their congregations to sow into good ground i.e. their church in order to receive a harvest. Try selling that doctrine to a farmer. I sow into my neighbors field and expect to get my crop from his property. Prosperity pastors quote give (money) and it (money) shall be given to you pressed down and running over. Now, go to them when you are in a financial mess and the story line will change, I did not mean I would give or my church would give, you know we cant help everybodyI meant pray to God and he will send someone to give unto you. Now ask yourself, how much prosperity they would really have if the congregation stopped giving. Anybody can prosper if you have an abundant money flow. And if you dont like that test, try this one. Ask your pastor with all the money that they round up every week, how much of that goes to take good care of their staff and volunteers. I personally know of ministries that pay their employees poverty level salaries, avoid paying any benefits, and no retirement and yet have multimillion dollar complexes, amusement parks, expensive cars and all the joy that the congregations money has bought. Jesus never lived above the means of his disciples and modern day ministers should not live so lavishly above their congregations and staff. Sometimes the lifestyle which they claim God blessed them with is in reality a by product of what happens when all the money stays at the top and the wealth that God blesses the church with is not properly distributed. Jesus nailed it on the head, the sheep really are dumb, duped, and in need of a saving shepherd. It was funny just a few days ago one of my husbands associates came bragging about how his Pastor is really blessed, and that at one particular service his Pastor asked for a $10,000 dollar offering and got it. My husband asked him, so what did he do with the money and how did that money benefit him as a member. He gave my husband a confused look and said, I dont know? Bah, bah, said the sheep. Rev. Evaluating A Wedding Reception Location

By Rose Smith One of the aspects of planning a wedding is locating a good reception venue. With a large variety of reception sites to pick from, it can sometimes set your head to spinning. Start off by choosing at least 3 possible places to hold your reception. Write down the name of the location, address, phone number and directions to the place. Call and make an appointment for viewing. Some couples will choose to try and see all their site choices in one day others may prefer to do it on separate days. How you wish to do this is entirely up to you. Be sure to take along a digital camera. If you dont have one, borrow one. Youll be glad you did when it comes time to actually book a location for your wedding reception. When you arrive, take pictures of the driveway entrance, the parking areas, and the entrance into the building. Once inside, youll want pictures of the foyer, coat closet area, bathroom locations, main reception room, door to the kitchen facilities, outside exits, window placements, etc. These pictures will be a major help to you later when youre trying to remember which location had what, as well as with drawing up a floor plan for tables, etc. Speaking of floor plans: ask the site manager if they possibly have a copy of the actual floor plan that they could give you. This would certainly help you with your layout (as you'd have the actual room sizes and such). By figuring out the placements of the head table, guest tables, bar, etc. youll be able to get a better overall view of what the reception will look like, as well as if it will comfortably accommodate all of your wedding guests. While at each reception location there are several details that you should pay attention to. Here is a list to take with you so you can make notes as you go along: 1. If you are planning to have the ceremony and reception in one location, will there be enough room to hold all the guests as well as provide room for setting up an area for the actual ceremony? 2. Keeping in-line with a reception/ceremony in one place, is there a separate room where your guests can go after the wedding ceremony to mingle, while tables are setup for the dinner and reception? 3. If this is to be just a reception (the ceremony is elsewhere) is there enough space near the entrance for a receiving line to meet and greet the guests? 4. Check to see exactly how many guests the location will hold. You should also take into account needed area space for: your head table, guestbook table, gift table, cake table, desert and/or buffet tables, DJ/band setup, and the dance floor. If you're planning on inviting 100 guests and the room only holds 75 comfortably with the furniture included, you should look for a new location. 5. Where is the bar located? Can people easily get to it and move around without crowding nearby dinner tables? 6. Does the location have adequate cooking faculties to prepare food for the number of guests you are planning to invite? 7. Where are the bathroom facilities located? Are they large enough to hold a few guests at a time or are they single rooms, where only one person can enter at a time? The second option is not a good choice for a large wedding. Can someone with a disability enter them safely? 8. Is there enough parking available at the location itself or will the guests need to park farther down the street? If so, is parking allowed during the time of your reception and will there be enough spaces available? If not, where is the closets available parking located? Do guests have to pay for parking? 9. Does the facility have a cloak room? Will there be enough space for all the coats and jackets? Do they have a person doing a coat check or does each guest need to hang up their own coats? Is the cloak room in a secured, yet viewable area? 10. Does the facility have enough chairs, tables, linens, cutlery, plates, utensils, etc. to accommodate the number of wedding guests? 11. Is there adequate room to set up a head table to accommodate the wedding party? 12. Most importantly, does the site you are considering have liability insurance? Write down the answers to the above questions as you visit each site (you should check out at least 3 locations). Pair up your notes and digital pictures and then take the time to carefully look everything over. If any further questions pop into your mind, write them down and give the site a call back. Before booking your final choice, it might be prudent to go back and have another look around. Although doing all this may seem like a fair amount of work, it really will help to give you a good perspective on each wedding reception site that you visit. It's better to prepare ahead of time, rather than to arrive and find out that your guests can barely move or that food service is taking hours because the kitchen wasn't large enough to properly handle serving the number of people at your reception. That little bit of extra effort that you put into pre-planning your reception will result in a much calmer and relaxed reception the day of your wedding. Moles! Those Stinking Moles!

By Mark Dotson Are you at your wits end wondering what to do? Do you just want to pack up the house and leave the yard behind? Or are you searching the internet looking for a dynamite dealer near you? Okay, Okay... put away the dynamite, the bubble gum, smoke cartridges, the water hose and let's get down to business. There are two things you need to control moles. KnowledgeTools You wouldn't do your job without knowledge, so why try trapping moles without it? After all, a mole in the hand is worth two in the ground! Moles are fascinating animals, but they can sure tear your yard up in a hurry. One study estimates a mole can tunnel up to 80 feet in a day. I bet you are thinking to yourself, "Yes, that was my yard". You will never get rid of all the moles in your yard, but you will be able to control them. You see, when you remove the moles, others will eventually move in. It could take a year or two or possibly sooner, but others will come. People who generally are most affected by them live near a forested area or have some trees and shrubs in their yard. The mole is a woodland creature. When it finds a nice lush lawn with lots of night crawlers (worms) and grubs, it is full speed ahead! Your yard just became a feasting ground and the "open invitation" sign has just been put out. If you are ready to put up your dukes and give those moles the "one-two punch", there is no better time than the present! Mark Dotson, Wildlife Control Expert and veteran mole
