Creative Soap Molds

By Sarah Freeland If you are interested in making your own soap then you will need to find soap molds. There are many different types of soap molds including character molds, simple molds, silicone molds, and wood molds. The type of soap molds that you use will depend on the soap making process that you use, the type of wax that you use, and your design preferences. The first type of soap molds that you can buy are basic soap making molds. These molds are generally rectangular in shape, and are made from either wood or silicone. Wooden molds will need to lined with wax paper, plastic wrap, or greased to prevent the soap from sticking to the mold. Some silicone soap molds will need to be lined to prevent the soap from sticking to the mold, however, some are designed for quick release even without the liner. If you are interested in more intricate soap molds then you can choose from several different soap mold types. First there are holiday themed soap molds such as Halloween, Christmas, and Easter soap molds. If you dont want a holiday themed soap design, but you still want an interesting soap mold shape, then you can choose from a modern or contemporary soap mold design. Your final choice for shaping soap is to hand-roll the soap into soap balls. To do this you will need to mix up your soap and then allow it to cool slightly so that you can handle the mixture. Next you will need to scoop out the soap and roll it between your palms to form the soap ball. What You Need To Know About Choosing A Cell Phone Provider

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Steadman_Issenburg]Steadman Issenburg Cell phones have become an integral part of the daily lives of most consumers, and that means that the choice of which cell phone provider to use is a very important one. After all, the cell phone itself can only be as good as the network it is connected to. So here are a few important tips that you need to know about how to choose a cell phone service provider. As far as performance and customer service are concerned, most consumer surveys that have been conducted in the last couple of years indicate that two cell phone companies seem to perform best overall, and that is Verizon and T-Mobile. Both Sprint and Cingular did not receive nearly as many positive comments from cell phone users. However, this alone should not be the determining factor in which cell phone network that you choose to use, as both performance and service can vary dramatically from one location or area of the country to another. So a better way to get a good idea of the quality of service to you can expect from a cell phone provider in your particular area is to simply ask your family, friends and acquaintances about their experiences with their cell phone provider. No doubt, you will get quite an earful about their opinions, both positive and negative. These can be very useful if you include enough people in your informal survey, as usually clear patterns can begin to develop after you have queried enough local cell phone users. Another consideration when selecting a cell phone provider is how you plan on using the phone on their system. There are two major digital networks that are in use in the US today, and they are CDMA and GSM. If your cell phone usage requires you to make phone calls from time to time in rural areas where there is no digital service, you'll want to select a service provider that uses the CDMA network, because it allows for analog roaming in areas where a digital signal cannot be found. On the other hand, if you travel internationally, you may want to consider getting a cell phone on a GSM network instead, as this kind of network is in wide usage internationally. What that means for you is that if you travel outside the US, you would be able to take your cell phone with you and use it as you normally would because of its compatibility with the overseas networks. Just check to see which kind of network is used by the cell phone providers in your area to decide on which will best fit your needs. In order to protect yourself when choosing a cell phone service plan, it would be a good idea to only sign up for one year of service at a time. Although the cell phone companies will want to sell you service plans that cover a longer period of time and may be less expensive than the long run, it still may be best to try a cell phone provider in your area for only a year at a time to begin with, allowing you to determine the quality of their service and performance without being tied to a long-term commitment. Hopefully, these tips and suggestions will help you find the best cell phone service plan for your needs and save you money too. Women Over Forty And Single: Looking For A Relationship

By Tonja Weimer Women over forty who are single and looking for a relationship can easily become discouraged. If you fit into this group, you may think all the good ones are gone. But the fact is, you have never been at a better time in your life to meet someone. If you are in the demographic of women over forty and single, chances are you have had enough relationships in the past that have given you some experience and wisdom. You probably know what works for you in a relationship and what doesn't. But if you feel stuck and don't know how to meet someone, or you are not quite sure how to apply what you have learned, no matter what your age, here is where you begin: *Make a list of what you do not want in a relationship Women over forty often do not know exactly what they want. Many times when I ask a client what she wants in a relationship, she has no idea. But when we change the question to what she doesn't want, she gets very clear. List all of the characteristics and qualities that you cannot put up with in a relationship. Take a look at what caused your other relationships to break up. *Now...make a list of what you do want in a relationship From your first list, you will now have some idea of what your deal breakers are in relationships, and that will tell you what you must have in order for one to work for you. Keep your list to no more than ten items. If it is longer, condense some of the similar qualities into one major one. *Visualize your ideal relationship and surround the picture with feeling Several times a day, visualize how you want your life to look with your ideal partner. Surround that picture with feeling as you imagine being together. Cut out pictures from magazines that represent your relationship and post them in a place where you will see them often. Look at them frequently and imagine having just what you want. *Make a list of action steps you can take to achieve your ideal relationship This is the most important step of all. You can't have what you want unless you do something about it. What would bring you closer to finding your love? Do you need a counselor to help you build up your self esteem and handle some of your past baggage? Do you need to stop being a hermit and get out of the house more? Do you need a financial counselor to get your economic life straightened out? Do you need to look at what it would take to have a more fulfilling career? Do you need a dating coach? Remember that like attracts like, so if you want to meet a successful, emotionally stable, attractive guy, you want to become the same. Become the person you are looking for. Women over forty have earned the wisdom, beauty, and maturity to find whom and what they want. If you are over forty, you have a courage that you never had before. Use all of your lessons learned and go and find what you want. You deserve it. Positioning For Success

By Ed Newman According to military historian David Chandler the campaigns of Napoleon Bonaparte consistently rose above the expected. For more than 20 years Napoleon showed genius and skill as a general on the field of battle. To what did Chandler attribute Napoleons great string of successes? First, he was a master of translating theory into action. And second, in addition to being a man of action Napoleon was not concerned about being original. He borrowed from history, developing and perfecting the ideas of others. Napoleon made no secret of this secret of his success. Read and meditate upon the wars of the great captains, said he. "This is the only means of learning the art of war." Success in marketing is precisely the same. There is no need to re-invent the wheel, the chariot, or the smart bomb. Marketing successes and failures are well documented. Books on marketing are abundant. Those who read them, and learn what is valuable through trial and error, action and evaluation, will become increasingly powerful. THE SEARCH FOR SILVER BULLETS In my two decades of experience thinking about marketing related problems, a number of observations have impressed themselves upon me so that they have now become personal marketing principles. Among these I include the well worn maxim, There are no silver bullets. I know that a lot of business people wish there were indeed a silver bullet, a top secret marketing tip that they might be privy to. This would help them find relief from having to do any further homework, any further study or thinking or work. When you stop and think about it, virtuosity in any endeavor is the result of a hours of practice, preparation and sweat equity. Some people have natural abilities, but unless sharpened and honed the most gifted musician, athlete or sales professional will falter. Applying oneself to think from a marketing point of view is not natural to many of us. It is a skill, however, that we can learn. Unfortunately, most books on marketing are an attempt to chronicle universal truths that apply to all businesses. They do not and can not necessarily address all the particulars of our specific situations. Each of us in a different set of circumstances. Thus we must each do our own homework to think through how this principle applies to ones unique place. Rod Johnson, Director of Marketing & Business Development at Eventis Telecom, once observed that successful people do the things that are necessary, not just the things that are enjoyable. It is interesting, said Johnson, that by doing these necessary things routinely and developing skills in those areas, they become enjoyable or at least not unpleasant. So it is with finding business and marketing solutions. We must invest time to think, to gather information, and do our homework. ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS If we would first know where we are, and whither we are tending, Abraham Lincoln once said, we could better judge what to do and how to do it. This is a requirement in our business planning today as well. Too often we simply blunder forward without a plan. Many people have found early success simply on the sheer force of their personalities. Eventually, without a plan they will come up against a wall or end up in a corner. Lincoln observed that we need to have a clear understanding of where we are first, before we act. A lot of money is wasted in advertising because we do not take the time to figure out what is really happening. By this I mean, what is our situation? Who are our customers? What is their opinion, if any, of our products and services? Who are our competitors and how are we perceived in relation to these competitors? In short, our business exists within a context which includes both the market and our overarching business strategy. POSITIONING FOR SUCCESS Positioning begins with establishing an identity. The concept is easily understood when you look at examples. McDonalds and Bellisios have created two very different identities in the Duluth eatery market. Is one right and one wrong? Absolutely not. Each has targeted a different consumer niche. McDonalds is fast food with no surprises, the same burgers that you get it in Ohio or Michigan or South Carolina. By way of contrast, from the wine racks to the menu selection Bellisios speaks to a different class of consumer. Positioning is more than branding. When you think of McDonalds you not only have golden arches in your head, but you have a product and experience as well. Getting the name Bellisios into the market means nothing unless there is also an association made with the identity. Al Ries and Jack Trout, authors of Positioning: The Battle for Your Mind, talk about capturing the mind of ones prospects. One can hardly talk about this subject without tipping the hat to the two men who popularized this concept (and claim to have invented it, thereby positioning themselves as the ultimate authorities.) The book is an easy read, and widely recommended, with anecdotes and case histories that bring clarity to the key idea. SUMMING UP Advertising, like any investment, involves risk. There are no silver bullet universal truths that eliminate the need for strategic thinking. That is, even the best marketing concept requires that we think through how it applies to our specific situation, our specific market. This homework is foundational to our success. Knowing who we are is not the end of the matter. Do our products or services have value in the market? Do they meet a need? Once we have determined who we are and what we have to offer, we must find the most effective means of communicating this message to those who need our goods and services. I once attended a direct mail seminar in which the speaker stated that 95% of all mistakes occur before the pen hits the paper. Understanding who we are and who are customers are will help us craft promotional messages that are targeted to connect with the right hearers, achieving the results we seek. We can never eliminate risk entirely. But we can certainly improve our odds. Scrapbooking Children's Favorite Stories

By Fion Lim Countless memories are built during the formative childhood days. If there's an excellent means to record them down in some ways, it'll be scrapbooking. True, we can't possibly capture every single event, but we can definitely scrap those more memorable ones onto pages. If you've decided to scrapbook together with your kid, besides guiding them with little prompts on the journaling, you'll probably need some neat ideas to pull in those best memories. Here's various hot-selling "stories" that you and your child can scrapbook about: A) Story of the Birth of Baby Kids love to read stories about themselves as babies. Having pages surrounding your child's birth will make him or her feel how much he or she is wanted by the family. - Photo of mommy pregnant with the baby. - Who waited for the birth? - Who came for the hospital visit? - Weight, length, doctor, hospital details. - Feelings of parents about the birth of your child. - Funny stories that happened. - Documenting baby milestones. - What's your kid's favorite bedtime stories? - Photo of your kid's favorite toys. As there's a chance that there's no photos taken during the birth, a good alternative would be to do a page on significant or historical events that happened on the day or year of your kid's birth. How to source for such information? Visit www.dmarie.com/timecap to pick up such data. Another idea is for your kid to do a page on his or her name and birthday. Record down your kid's feelings about his or her name. Why did you and your husband come up with such a name? What's the meaning of the name? Find out what famous people share your kid's name. Find out what famous birthdays share your kid's birthday. What's the best birthday party your child had? B) Story of Family Family members are among the most influential people that influence a child during the growing years. Having your child scrapbook about the family will reinforce the importance of family connectedness in his or her life. - What does your child like about each family member? - Does your girl or boy like being part of the family? Why? - Does your kid like being the first-born, middle-born, in-between or baby of the family? - What does your child like about his or her grandparents? - What are the family chores that your kid handle? - Does your kid have a favorite pet? What does your child like about the pet? Get your kid to draw a picture of the pet. - Funny incidents that took place in the family. - Typical day at home. What's the daily activities that take place? - List of fun things your kid did with the family like sporting events, camping, and picnics. - Favorite family vacations. Where did you go and what did your kid do? - What's your kid's most memorable memories about the family? - Record the cultural heritage of the family. - Suggest that your kid draw a family portrait. C) Story of School Days School is where the child will improve his or her fine-motor, language, art, math, problem-solving, expanding ideas and social skills. Many unforgettable memories will be formed here and your child would want to scrap these days. - Favorite subject at school. Why? - Favorite teacher. What does your kid like about this teacher? - Describe a typical day at school. - Describe the items in your kid's backpack. Photo of those items. - What does your kid like about his or her school? - Where does he or she usually hang out? - List of fun things your kid do with his or her classmates. - What extracurricular activities or clubs do you kid join? Since this is a personal choice, why did he or she choose it? - Who does your kid usually sit with at lunch? - Who are your kid's favorite classmates? What do your child like about them? - What are the memorable field trips? D) Story of Friends Friends are crucial in the development of a kid's growth. By scrapbooking the theme of friendship, he or she will learn the importance of friends, and to dwell on the positive aspects of friendship. - Who are your kid's best friends? - What do your kid like about them? - What do your kids usually do when they are together? - Where are the places your kid love to hang out with them? Why? - What are the qualities your kid admire in his or her friends? E) Story of Dreams Children has the amazing ability to daydream, imagine and dream big! You might want to encourage your kid to explore all the different possibilities. You'll probably have to give more guidance about journaling future jobs, things they want to achieve, homes and the lifestyle they want to lead. - What does like your kid want to become when he or she grows up? Why? - What are the duties included in the job? - Who are the famous/ordinary people with the career your kid admires? Photo of these people? - What are the qualities of the people with the career your kid dream of? - What kind of home your kid want to live in the future? Draw a picture of the dream house. - Does your kid want to be married in future? How many kids your child want to have? What are the qualities your kid look for in his or her partner? - List of top ten things your kid wanted most to do in his or her life. - What does kids imagine he or she will be doing during free time? - If your kid can have superpower, what does your kid want it to be? Why? - If money is no object, what would you child want to do with the money. Why? These are some of the common themes you and your kid can cover. There's many more. But these ideas will be a leaping pad to more ideas. Happy scrapping childhood stories! About the author:

How to Grow Japanese Red Maple Trees from Seed

By Michael McGroarty Most Japanese Maple seeds ripen in the fall. Watch the tree and wait for the seeds to turn brown. The seeds are ready to be harvested when they are brown and can be easily removed from the tree. The seeds are attached to a wing, its best to break the wing off before storing or planting the seeds. Japanese Maple seeds have a very hard outer coating as do many ornamental plants. Under natural conditions the seeds would have to be on the ground for almost two years before they would germinate. All that happens the first winter is the moisture softens the hard outer shell, and the second winter germination is beginning to take place. In order for all of this to happen in the proper sequence so the seedlings actually sprout at a time of the year when freezing temperatures or hot summer sun doesnt kill them, takes a tremendous amount of luck. You can improve the odds by controlling some of these conditions, and shorten the cycle. Once you have picked the seeds and removed the wing just place them in a paper bag and store them in a cool dry place until you are ready for them. You dont want to plant your seeds out in the spring until the danger of frost has past. Here in the north May 15th is a safe bet. If May 15th is your target date you should count backwards on the calendar 100 days. That will take you to about February 5th if my math is correct. On or about the 100th day prior to your target planting date, take the seeds and place them in a Styrofoam cup or other container that will withstand some hot water. Draw warm to hot water from your kitchen faucet and pour it over the seeds. Most of the seeds will float, just leave them in the water overnight as the water cools down. 24 hours later most of the seeds will have settled to the bottom of the cup. Drain off the water. Place the seeds in a plastic bag with a mixture of sand and peat or other suitable growing mix. Even light potting soil will work. The peat or soil should be moist, but not soaking wet. Poke some holes in the bag so there is some air circulation, and place the bag in your refrigerator for a period of 100 days. After 100 days you can plant the seeds outside. If you have timed it correctly, you should be at or close to your target planting date. To plant the seeds just sow them on top of a bed of well drained topsoil or sterilized potting soil, and cover with approximately 3/8 of soil. Water them thoroughly, but allow the soil to dry out completely before watering thoroughly again. If you water them frequently, not only do you stand a chance of the seeds rotting from being too wet, but you will also keep them cool, which will slow down the germination process. Once they start to germinate provide about 50% shade to keep the sun from burning them. Snow fence suspended about 30 above the bed will provide about 50% shade. Japanese Maples will tolerate some shade so it isnt too important to transplant them too quickly. Depending on how close together they are, you might be able to leave them in the same bed for one or two growing seasons. Dont transplant until they are completely dormant. Plan a Date To Go Places and Do Things You Enjoy

By Dr. Jackie Black When you plan a date, plan to participate in interests and activities that you enjoy. Invite someone into your life. Be willing to let the people you date experience you, in the places in which you are the most comfortable doing the things that you most love to do. Dates are a time to create opportunities to do the things you most enjoy. On dates, listen carefully to your inner voice(s) and to the person you are with. Experience the other person and who he or she is in their heart and soul. If you enjoy good food, explore interesting restaurants and out-of-the-way eateries that ignite your enjoyment and share them with new people. If you are moved by things of beauty, make a list of beautiful places and interesting buildings in your area to visit on a date. If you want to attract passion you must be passionate! If you are a patron of the arts frequent your local art galleries, community theatres and musician hang-outs. Most communities have art festivals, art walks, craft shows; small galleries have meet the artist nights with great munchies and they are usually free; high schools and colleges often have musical and theatrical productions that rival the pros. If you love to walk or hike, take some time and mark out some city walks to take just as if you were a tourist getting to know your city. Or grab a book on local hiking trails and keep it handy. You get the idea! Remember: Dating is the time that you are checking out the one you are dating. You are observing, listening, and getting a sense of who he or she is. Not visa versa!! Be actively engaged in the life that you love, and you will more readily attract the love of your life! Remember, only YOU can make it happen! The Key to Online College Classes - Have It Your Way

By Tim Arnold Never before has online education been more esteemed than today. In most circles online learning is haled as a viable alternative to traditional classroom settings. Not long ago, distance learning was perceived as trendy, faddish and nuvo. What's happening to change that? The driving forces behind the online education phenomena are convenience and demand. Two reasons you can obtain an education and "have it your way." How are the terms demand and convenience important to online education? Let's take a look. As we take the opportunity to explore the up-trending in online education you will easily see why these terms are important to it, and why so many Americans are turning to classes offered via the internet to fulfill there educational needs. Demand. Demand here implies that a need is being met. This is important because without the need for online education programs they simply wouldn't exist. Schools are adding online educational opportunities at a rate of 10 to 15 a month. That's quite remarkable considering 10 years ago, distance learning via internet was scoffed at. Neither educators nor students are laughing now! Hundreds of students are completing their e-classes online in virtual class rooms each month, they are obtaining an actual degree their own way, and upon doing so, receive their diplomas and transcripts as proof of their hard work. Numerable online programs are awarding their students with earned authentic degrees that they will utilize to gain employment or improve and increase the wage they currently receive from their present employer. Convenience, the second force that makes online education work is no less important. Because colleges online are so convenient, Americans can have education their own way, and students from all walks of life can be reached. Distance learning degrees are available to the stay at home parent, the single parent, the working parent, working class men and women of all ages, and home bound men and women as well. If you are unemployed or under employed distance classrooms are just the thing for you. Did you think of anyone who wouldn't benefit from an online program? An online degree can make a difference. Today, potential students are not limited to community classes, universities housed on large campuses, or night school. The
anywhere, anytime convenience of education online is waiting for you. Online degrees aren't limited in subject content, either. Virtually any subject you wish to study is becoming increasingly available on the internet. Do you have an interest in a foreign language? Have you ever wanted to study the arts or sciences? Is computer technology your field of interest? What are you waiting for? The market is right for you, employers are looking for someone like you, and there is a program that is convenient enough for you. Now you can see how online degrees have become so prevalent. First, we need them. And, secondly, we want them. So many of us in today's world require a user friendly way to obtain additional education, that it just makes sense. Investigate what an online degree can do for you. Search for a degree that interests you. Then see what everyone is talking about. Receive your online degree today, get your education and have it your way. Can The GI Diet Help You Lose Weight?

By Jane Flinders The GI diet, based on the Glycemic Index, has recently become very popular, but the GI ranking system has been around since 1981. There have been several books published on the success of the GI diet, but is it really a diet or a lifestyle change? The glycemic index Dr. David Jenkins, from the University of Toronto in Canada, developed the glycemic index to measure the speed at which foods break down in the body to produce glucose. While originally intended to help diabetic patients control their glucose levels, it was soon used to help individuals trying to lose weight to control their eating habits and hunger. The key was to decrease the fast breakdown of foods into glucose. Glucose is the natural source of energy for the body. It produces a rush of energy when the food is broken down, and then when it is burned up, it leaves a feeling of hunger and fatigue. Depending on how fast they elevate the blood sugar level after eating, foods are considered high, medium and low GI foods. Low GI foods rank less than 55 on the glycemic index scale, medium GI foods go from 55 to 70 and high GI foods rank higher than 70. High GI foods break down very quickly in the body and make you feel hungry again soon after consuming them. Low GI foods are slowly digested and absorbed so you feel fuller for a longer period of time after you eat. High GI foods include: white flour products like white bread, croissants, doughnuts;heavily processed foods like corn chips, potato chips or pretzels;foods high in sugar like cookies, rice krispies, ice cream;high starch vegetables such as potatoes and parsnips;fruits high in sugar - watermelons, dates and other dried fruits. Medium GI foods include: most types of pasta;rice;some fruits like mangos, apricots and raisins;some vegetables like baked beans. Low GI foods include: most fruits and vegetables;legumes;cereals that are high in fibers but low on sugar;dairy products like low fat plain yogurt, whole, low fat or skimmed milk;whole grain breads. The Low GI Diet The low GI diet focuses on changing eating habits so that the majority of the foods consumed are from the low GI food group. These foods take longer to break down into glucose in the body. This does two basic things: Produces a more even level of glucose throughout the day to avoid those high glucose times followed by the low glucose slumps.Stops cravings and hunger from occurring as much. When these two components combine, they allow the dieter to eat a balanced meal and not experience the "energy slumps". The whole grains and unprocessed foods take more time for the body to convert to glucose and keep the feeling of being full for longer. It also prevents those cravings which tend to cause overeating or consuming foods that are not on the eating plan. However, the diet should not rely exclusively on the glycemic index as low GI foods aren't necessarily healthy. Foods should be chosen based on their overall nutritional value. The glycemic index is influenced by a sum of factors like: the nutrient content of the foods, the extent to which they are processed, the cooking method, food combination or ripeness in the case of fruits and vegetables. Products that are high in fat have a low GI as they don't break down as easily as the ones high in carbs. That doesn't mean you should choose to eat high fat foods in order to stick to the index. As an example, whole milk is ranked lower than the fat free or low fat one. The glycemic index doesn't rank foods that do not contain carbohydrates, like fresh meat, chicken, fish, eggs and cheese. However, it includes processed foods that include meat and diary products. For a healthy low GI diet you should choose lean or low-fat meats that have been trimmed of visible fat, skinless poultry, fish and low-fat dairy products, even though they aren't ranked. The nutrient content is also very important. Between dates or watermelon and a bag of crisps the obvious choice is the fruit even though the watermelon is considered high GI because of the sugar content and the crips are considered low GI as they are high in fat and slow down the absorbtion process. It is also important to remember that the glycemic index ranks invidual foods only, not whole meals. Depending on how the foods are combined, the overall GI value of the meal can change and cannot be measured accurately, but the main idea is that including low GI foods in your meal will result in lower GI value overall. The low GI diet does not lead to rapid weight loss; rather it results in a steady and constant decrease in body weight. The individuals who use this plan find that they have more energy and therefore are more likely to exercise. So is the low GI plan a diet or a lifestyle? Most experts agree that it is a diet plan that leads to changes and becomes a lifestyle. Eating low GI foods just makes good sense for weight control and maintenance, energy levels and healthy eating. Getting a Payday Loan Extension

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Garant]Peter Garant A loan extension is an option which is usually offered by payday loan companies. There are many reasons why a borrower or client cannot meet his financial obligations with a payday lender. There maybe a family emergency or the car suddenly needs repairs. Such events are accommodated by lenders and this is why there is the payday loan extension. When a person obtains a payday loan, he must carefully read the terms and conditions so that he will determine what to do when he needs to file a payday loan extension. If information is not found, the person must ask the customer service representative. Asking does not mean that the client plans to get an extension. But acquiring knowledge beforehand is always important, not only in payday loans but in other aspects of life as well. Payday lenders require that the filing of the extension should be done on specific days or within a certain period of time. Most lenders accept requests for loan extensions the day before the loan is due. When a client is too negligent to request for a loan extension, he will be charged with late fees. And this also does not bode well for any future loan applications. Most lenders allow their clients to request for a loan extension online too. The procedure is usually made up of three simple steps: 1. The client accesses his personal account by entering his username and password 2. The client clicks a link or checks a box indicating that he intends to request for a loan extension 3. The client enters the new due date of his payday loan. The new due date is usually the date of the next payday. Some lenders require that this new due date should be at least four days away from the original due date. The new due date cannot be the next day after the original date. Other lenders require that the new due date should be less than eighteen days from the original date. This means that the new date must not be a month or two months away. Once the request for extension is approved, the lender will only debit the interest of the loan from the clients bank account. This amount is usually stated in the terms and conditions sent to the client. The client, however, must be aware that there are limits to loan extensions. Such limits are determined by the laws of the State. This means that a client can only make as much as three loan extensions. After that, when he is still unable to pay, he must arrange for other ways of settling his loan. Most lenders also accept partial payments. That is, when the original loaned amount is $300, the client may pay the lender $100 plus the agreed interest. This allows the client to have a lesser amount and lesser interest to pay in the next payday. Such arrangement is often advised and preferred by lenders. The Five Worst Date Places

By Jason OConnor Food in teeth, nausea, childhood stories and exposing your pot belly are all things you ought to avoid on first or second dates. You run the risk of experiencing these and other humiliating incidents if you choose the wrong place to bring your date. Good places are memorable, different, unique, cost-effective, and relevant to both of you in some way. Bad date places have none of these qualities and the worst places not only lack these things, but also embarrass you and assure that youll never get another date with the person again. Lets look at the function of a date. If youre single, a date acts like an interview. Your goal is to get the other person to still like you enough when the date is over to go out with you again, assuming youre still interested as well. Youre trying to appear cool, sexy, together, confident, and fun. Youre also trying to make the other person as comfortable as possible. Thats why avoiding the worst places is the first step in smart dating. The following lists the worst places you could choose to go on a date and I recommend that you avoid them like the plague if you want the other person to still like you when its over. An Amusement Park As the roller coaster nears its pinnacle your date looks over the side and silently swears under her breath at you for talking her into going on this ride. She hates roller coasters, has always been afraid of them, and is highly susceptible to motion sickness. As she contemplates her strategy to avoid you in the future, the coaster starts its stomach-turning decent, and she leans over and throws up in your lap, her way of saying Thanks for the great date. Amusement parks are a funky phenomenon. Youll often find overgrown stuffed animals running around trying to high-five you, screaming children, long lines, and overpriced food. Unless your date is an amusement park buff, its unlikely he or she is going to love the idea. *** The Beach *** Dont get me wrong, the beach is a great place. But from the point of view of a date with a near stranger, it stinks. First, theres an awful lot of sand and it can get everywhere. You cant easily eat on the beach; a lack of furniture contributes to that. With sand and bugs-o-plenty, eating ends up being a drag. But probably the worst thing about the beach is that youre compelled to take off most of your clothes. Now, if you both have hot bodies, well-groomed with flat stomachs and great muscle tone, then you have nothing to worry about. But if you dont, stay away from places that make you feel silly if you want to keep all your imperfection-hiding clothes on. *** A Non-Traditional Restaurant *** One time I took a date to a Japanese restaurant where they made everyone take off their shoes upon entering. There were no chairs, just floor-level tables that everyone sat around on little pillows. It didnt seem like it was going to be too bad until I started to smell my feet while eating our salads. The noxious odor must have been escaping from the various holes in my ratty socks. The whole night was humiliatingly awkward. Other places to avoid are eateries where youre expected to use your hands to feed yourself. A first date doesnt want to watch you maul your barbeque ribs and chicken legs like The Missing Link. No one likes the thought of being touched later on by greasy fingers. And have you ever eaten corn on the cob and come away with clean teeth? *** A Family Function *** I dont know about your family, but a few of my great-aunts have hairy faces. I mean really hairy, with partial beards and hairy moles. One of my uncles thinks hes still living in 1880 and uses every racist expression ever known. So it goes without saying that I never brought dates to family functions. And you shouldnt either. Weddings, reunions, baptisms, bat mitzvahs, and especially funerals, are out. Theres no such thing as a family that isnt dysfunctional. It doesnt exist. If you bring a first or second date to a family function be prepared for somebody to embarrass you. Grandma will ask you two when youre getting married and when to expect great grandchildren. And your little cousin Eunice will promptly tell your date all about the time you farted in church. *** Your Parents House for Dinner *** I cant think of a more uncomfortable setting than sitting at a dinner table with complete strangers in their own house. Dont put a date through this torture. You may have the hippest parents in the world. They may intelligent, hospitable and interesting. But dont subject anyone you just recently met to your parents for an entire dinner. Often the parent of your same sex looks like youre going to look in twenty five years. Youll find your date sizing up your parent asking themselves whether theyll be ok with your pot belly and hairy ears a couple of decades from now. Bringing your date to your parents house is just asking for trouble. Your mom may temporarily forget that youre trying to make an impression and start talking to you like youre thirteen years old again, Before you leave tonight my little muffin, can you take your hemorrhoid ointment out of our medicine cabinet, daddy keeps using it for lip cream by mistake. Dates can be traumatic and nerve-racking in the best of places so dont make it harder on either of you than you have to. There are some great places to take a date that will make you look like a hero, wont cost you too much, will give you just enough time to talk to each other, but will also provide an entertaining distraction. Im talking about museums, jazz shows, rock concerts, musicals, art shows, plays and live comedy. These are all cool places to bring a first or second date. They allow you to talk and be entertained at the same time. These types of places make the date memorable, distinct and out of the ordinary. It shows you put more than just a little thought in the idea. And if youre trying to get someone to go out with you for the first time, find out what kind of bands, shows, comedians or plays they like, buy a couple of tickets, and casually invite them along with an explanation like your buddy just cancelled on you and you have a free ticket that you dont want to waste. Simple Secrets to Staying Slim

By Jeannette Marcoaldi The biggest secret to staying slim is amazingly simple. It is just in eating little, but often. I have got into such a habit of eating small meals that my stomach has shrunk and I no longer desire to eat larger meals. Even if I do overeat on some rare occasion, I will give my digestive system a break by cutting back on future meals. Eating smaller portions is not only the key to keeping slim, but also helps to keep a healthier body. Constantly overloading the body with food puts stress on our digestive system and food processing organs. I also like to snack between meals and usually end up eating about 5 times a day. Eating at more regular intervals boosts the metabolism and is good for digestion. Eating small meals often, keeps the digestive system in good working order without overstressing it. Another secret is doing regular exercise about two to three hours a week. I have always engaged in physical activities I really enjoy like dancing or tennis, so have had no trouble sticking to them. Physical exercise gives the metabolism an extra boost and also is a natural appetite suppressant. Exercise reduces the urge to overeat and therefore reduces the tendency to put on extra weight. One of my best-kept secrets to staying slim is actually something I don't do. What I don't do is I don't binge eat. Vast amounts of calories are consumed when binge eating and the more often it is done the greater that caloric number racks up. I found the secret of controlling binge easting is to not deprive myself of any food I desire. I have any food I like; I just have it in a small portion size. This way I never feel deprived or desperate to indulge in exorbitant quantities of any particular food. The secrets for staying slim are about making simple changes of habit in diet and exercise. Eating little, but often and some regular exercise can go a long way to keeping slim. Paper Crafts - 5 Tips to Save Money

By Michael Russell Do you have artistic hands that can create amazing things from a piece of paper? From such a simple and basic material, you can do anything from beautiful 3D flowers to scrapbooks which will preserve the life story of your family for generations to come. But there is something more amazing. These materials you use to do your art can be quite expensive. The good news is there are always some little things you can do to save some money and go on doing your art. Here are the 5 ideas to help you save money on your paper crafts: Do not toss, save: Have you ever considered that Christmas, birthdays and holidays are great opportunities for the paper crafter? The best item to save would be cards. You can create gift tags or even small gift boxes from these greeting cards which would be tossed otherwise. From now on, I am sure you will look at the gifts, whether it is for you or someone else, in a different way. You will be thinking if the wrapping papers has a potential to be used later and save it instead of throwing it away. Keep an eye on Ebay: You can find anything, literally anything on Ebay. What you should be watching on Ebay are the "wannabe" crafters, their failure to stick it will become a boon to you as a hard core crafter. You have to keep an eye on these purging ex-crafters and you have to be ready to cash in on your good fortune as soon as one of them gets tired of storing supplies he will never use. Watch out for the deals in disguise: Have you heard the old saying "Never judge a book by its cover".? Maybe you should not judge a book by its cover but it is a fact that the real value of a book or photo album is in the cover. Those covers can be pretty expensive! Here is an idea to cut $20: Buy an inexpensive album, throw away the insides pages and fill it with your own pages fitted into plastic sleeves. In this way you will spend maybe $10 instead of $30. You should always watch for ways to convert cheaper products into the ones you need. Buy in bulk and swap: It is not a secret that buying in large quantities usually saves us money. Next time you go shopping and see something that will save you a lot of money if you buy in bulk, but you only need one of them, go ahead and buy the bulk quantity. Now all you need is a gathering with your crafty friends and swap these items, for the old barter time's sake! Get the freebies: Why pay money for it when you can get it free? Patterns are usually the greatest expense for crafters. Or, if you are not buying patterns you are probably buying crafting magazines for fresh ideas. Have you tried going online and finding free patterns? The Internet is full of resources. Whether it is a free pattern or fresh ideas, you can find it on the Internet. Just join a forum with people sharing your passion. Michael Russell

Need A Little Help Finding A Lawyer?

By Dakota Robson We all know what a lawyer is but most of us hope that we
will never need one. Unfortunately, there are many
circumstances in life that may call for you to need a
lawyer. For this reason, you should know how to find a
lawyer to suit your needs. You may even want to look for a
lawyer before the actual need arises since if something
happens to make you need a lawyer, you will likely be very
stressed out at that point in time. The chances are that sooner or later, each one of us will
need to find a lawyer. Whether it is engaging a divorce
lawyer, a malpractice attorney or any other kind of legal
specialist, the need for a lawyer will one day arise for you
or someone you know. And when you do need a lawyer, the
question you will ask yourself is - what is the best way to
find a lawyer? Of course there are many ways to locate a reliable and
reputable lawyer. You might like to ask a friend
or family member for a recommendation. They will only
suggest someone who they can put their own trust and faith
in, so you know you're getting a quality lawyer with the
right kind of experience. But what if you don't know anyone
who can make that kind of recommendation to you? Who do
you
turn to find a lawyer in that case? Have you considered using the Internet as a solution to this
problem? Over the internet, you will be able to find a wide
variety of lawyers, who offer a complete variety of
services. And while you're looking, you can complete some
research and discover about the law firm before you even
consider hiring them. This means you can, in reality,
compare law firm against law firm without even spending a
retainer fee. While you can find all types of lawyers online, it is vital
that you pick the right lawyer for your specific needs.
After all, even the top personal injury attorney won't do
you any good if you need a divorce lawyer. Choose your
lawyer carefully. Ask them to advise you of their
experience in their field and to outline in major cases they
have successfully tried and won. You can then make a good, informed decision about who
you
think will be a good one for your situation. Remember it
is important that you are able to trust your lawyer because
you will likely have a lot riding on it. The author has found lawyers to be an asset in making her
life easier and giving her understanding around different
legal situations such as wills, buying a house and much
more. Dakota Robson is passionate about lawyers and

Creeping Someone Out 101 (Part One Of Two)

By Scot McKay Have you ever been out on a date and things were just a little, welloff? There was just some "vibe" in the air that was decidedly causing you to be having no fun whatsoever. I think you know exactly what I mean. Maybe you just couldn't quite put a finger on just what it was that was making you uncomfortable, but you had a feeling your instincts just couldn't be lying to you. THENit happenedeither your date said something or did something that just broke things wide open. And you couldn't wait to get OUT. What happened? You had the classic case of the "heebie-jeebies", that's what. This factor is a major cause of bad dates everywhere and any discussion thereof promises to be way too complex to fit in a single newsletter. As such, this is the first in a two-part series. So how do we define being "creeped out" anyway? Check this out: hee‧bie-jee‧bies  - [hee-bee-jee-beez] noun (used with a plural verb ) Slang. A condition of extreme nervousness caused by fear, worry, strain, etc.; the jitters; the willies (usually prec. by the): "Just thinking about ghosts gives me the heebie-jeebies." [Origin: 190510, American; rhyming compound coined by W. De Beck (18901942), American comic-strip cartoonist] I don't care if the term was coined by a comic-strip cartoonist, it's not funny. When the above happens, YOU my friend have been CREEPED OUT. Gnarly. It's bad enough to have been "creeped out" on a date or two in your life. What's even worse is if you happen to have been the one who is DOING the creeping. Have you ever thought of that? I think everyone fully realizes when he or she is being creeped out. But who genuinely realizes when they are the ones who are coming off as creepy? Unfortunately, my guess is almost nobody. So how do you get a handle on this? Well, if you have been going on a lot of first dates that don't turn in to second dates this topic is worth a hard look. If you are going on a lot of first dates that seem to start well and somewhere take a turn for the worse mid-stream this topic is worth an even harder look. And this holds true no matter what gender you are. Yes ladies-guys can and do get fully creeped out also. There are a "dirty dozen" factors that have a very high probability of giving your date the "willies". Today, let's cover the first half: 1) Space Invaders Standard procedure here is, of course, eighteen inches of space between you and a stranger. On a first date situation you absolutely, positively want to honor that. There is nothing creepier than someone who is getting way too close too quickly. When seated at a restaurant or a movie (which I hope all who are reading are sensible enough to avoid on a first date), be sure not to crowd the space there either, generally speaking. Oh yes, and avoid invading space for the rest of the date also until you are sure there is chemistry. Then start with hand holding, please. 2) Touchy-feelies This factor, although similar to the first, is decidedly different. Recently I was asked about how to greet a person you are meeting for the first time on a first date. My recommendation is not to push for a hug, while remembering that handshakes on dates are lame also. Guys, if a woman offers a handshake when you first meet her, do us all a favor and either tease her for it or grab the hand and lift it to your mouth, kissing the back of your own hand instead. Anything but a handshake. To be honest, nobody ever said you had to touch someone as soon as you meet him or her, although you wouldn't know this given the number of men in particular who want to grab women's hands and not let go, hug them, rub shoulders and all sorts of other invariably creepy things. Perhaps the concept of not having to touch someone upon meeting them will be tremendously freeing for you. Guys, wanting to touch and/or hold onto women you barely know is a bad idea all the time. I've even known men who meet a woman, take her hand and proceed to play with her fingers and what not during the entire (brief) time he is talking to her. Wow. Creepy. 3) Eccentricities You know, it's true that individualism is a good thing. Most of us like someone who isn't generic. That makes this point a particularly difficult one to convey effectively. Yet, I'm going to try. Essentially, if you are wearing, saying or doing something that almost nobody else does, the chances are good that you are creeping dates out. If this applies to you and you aren't getting any dates at all, so much more so the probability. For example, some women wear black nail polish. That's individualistic. Almost no men do, especially if they are dressed normally otherwise. That would be creepy. See what I mean? In case you don't, here's another example. Some people use the word "famously" instead of "fantastically". It's actually somewhat unusual for a woman to do so, maybe saying, "You and I are going to get along famously." I actually find that usage of the word endearing. Now if she punctuated every sentence with "famously", that would be creepy. 4) Disgusting Habits One time a woman told me that she gave a date her business card at dinner and he proceeded to clean his fingernails with it while they were talking. Gross. There are an endless supply of examples here, most of which would be self-explanatory. But here are some ideas anyway. Don't spit while a date. Ever. Especially at your date. Say it, don't spray it, okay? Please wash your hands after going to the lavatory. Don't pick at the back of your pants or your crotch (guys especially). If you haven't ever studied table manners, chances are yours need work. Get a book and learn. And for heaven's sake, use a Kleenex. 5) Strange Nervous Habits Fidgets, funny laughs, rubbing hands, etc. all classify as such. Most nervous habits are as individual as the person performing them, but they invariably make the other person equally nervous. So stop it. Not only are weird nervous idiosyncrasies creepy, they convey an utter lack of confidence. That's a tough "double whammy" to overcome when trying to attract someone, right? Pay particular attention to the "vibrating leg" thing that often happens when seated. You know, when you just have to bounce your leg up and down for no reason. Stop that. 6) Fishy-eyed Stares OK, here it is. Yes, "eye-contact" is a good thing when showing someone you are interested. Please, however, be sure to actually look away sometimes. And do us all a favor and BLINK, finally, will you? This point holds true whether you are on a date or in any social setting, actually. One time while I was still working in the IT world, I was at a business meeting of about 15 or 20 people all seated around a big table. I looked over at one point and my boss was giving me the glazed-over fisheye treatment. Solution For You Weight Loss Plateau

By Jed Baguio Everything started off so well. You started changing the way you eat to a more balanced nutrious diet. Then you began exercising and the fat started to drop off. But suddenly it all halted when you thought everything went well. You may wonder what was happening to your weight loss program now. Youll think anything and take everything that might be helpful in your weight loss program. This article helps you realized where and what really went wrong. What really happened? When you changed the way you eat by reducing your calorie intake slightly and started exercising, you were burning more calories than your body was taking in hence the initial fat loss. And now when your body is smaller you are still burning the same amount of calories that you are taking in and therefore not losing any extra fat. You are just maintaining. Is that really so? What do you do now? There are two easy options. Achieving these options can help you avoid hitting a weight loss plateau. These are: Be careful in reducing your calorie intake again. Dont restrict it too much. If you restrict it too much your body will go into starvation mode. This will not help and it will only store those calories as fat and this will make the scenario even worst. Aim to reduce your calorie intake by about 20%. Certainly you should take no more than this. Increase the amount of physical activity you are doing. Also change your daily physical routine. This gives the idea that your body has adapted to the routine you were doing previously and has a tendency that your body is used to the daily routine and burns the same amount of fat all over. So you now need to give some extra spice either by picking up the intensity with some interval training or changing your weight training routine so that youll burn more fats when you gain extra weight. Through these 2 easy options you should be able to get your body burning that excess fat again and say goodbye to that plateau. Keeping an eye on your measurements is recommended so that you know if you have hit a plateau early. In this way youll be able to burn those fats successfully or otherwise youll waste weeks of effort before you have even realized. Some Basics for Internet Dating

By Jeffrey Hauser Im one of the lucky ones. I found my true love on the Internet. I had lost my wife
of nearly thirty years to a heart attack and was alone in my fifties. How to find
someone? I wasnt a spring chicken anymore and into the bar scene. I didnt want to
start a relationship with a co-worker or church member. That could lead to
problems. So I turned to the Internet. Why? Because it was far less intimidating,
(pardon the pun) and relatively easy. I placed my profile on several sites and
surveyed the marketplace. Yes, its basically a shopping market of prospective
mates. I learned a lot in those beginning days. Let me share some early insights. Start with your profile. Take a good picture and an accurate picture. There is no
use putting on a wig, or doctoring the results using Photoshop. If you intend to
actually meet that special person, theyll quickly uncover the real you. That also goes for your information. Tell the truth. Dont lie about height, weight
or your age. Its a terrible way to begin a partnership. Be honest about your likes
and dislikes. For instance, if you hate smokers or drinkers, say so. Which brings me to rule three. Ask for what you want: a blonde, a busty woman,
a tall man, a rich widow, a sex-slave, a country-western nut, an outdoorsman, or
whatever. Its your life and your commitment. Thats a great transition to point four. Describe the type of relationship you
seek. Be it short term, long term, friends, marriage, or something else. Both parties
need to know the others reasons for the contact. Finally, be realistic in your expectations. If youre a man who wants a super-
model, can you play the piano like Billy Joel? I didnt think so. But be as picky as
your want. Unfortunately, geography plays a part in that last point. Geography, you ask? Sure. If you live in New York and have your choice of
thousands of singles, great. But if youre in Eloy, Arizona, your prospects might just
be among ten or so. Therefore you have two choices: lessen the expectations or
broaden the scope. If youre willing to date someone in Phoenix, you have a two
hour drive but thousands of more potential mates. What sites would I recommend for the best results? The ones with the most
postings, of course. Yahoo personals and match.com were the ones I had the most
success with. I was patient and cautious. I only looked at profiles with pictures.
When I found a potential candidate, I e-mailed them with a simple message. It was
honest and direct. For example: I saw your profile and liked what you had to say. We share many interests and I
would like to correspond, if youre interested. Im attaching my profile and picture. Then I waited for a response. Sometimes I didnt get any reply and moved on. I
sent a few e-mails at a time, because I didnt just wait for that one persons reply.
Eventually, I was e-mailing a few women and getting to know them better. Finally, if
the timing was right, I sent over my phone number and asked if they would send me
theirs. I felt it was proper for me, being the man, to call them. In those cases, we
would finally actually hear each others voices. From there it may or may not lead to
a first date. Then it becomes like any other dating routine. It moves forward or stops
altogether. But the Internet can be a wonderful tool for the tentative and bashful. It also
opens up a world of opportunities. My wife was a widow who had also lost her
spouse and used the Internet for the same reasons. She was a busy mother, working
as a nurse and professor with little dating time. We were both at the right time and
place and only a few miles from one another. We went to the same places in the
same neighborhoods for years and yet never knew the other even existed. If it
werent for the Internet, I doubt we would have ever found each other. But we did,
married and started an Internet business. How appropriate, you might think. We
figured that its the future of communication and information research and our
research paid off for both of us. Good day and good dating. Jeffrey Hauser was a sales consultant for the Bell System Yellow Pages for

Why Should You Consider Colon Cleansing?

By Leroy Fong The colon, or the large bowel, is the waste ground of the body. With every meal we eat more and more stagnant food material sticks to the walls of the intestines and begins the long process of decomposition. As this waste material continues to rot it releases harmful toxins into the bloodstream that have the same general effects as the toxins we ingest. Every layer of hardened food matter that attaches to the intestine wall reduces the ability of the colon to function a little bit more, meaning that over time the intestines stop doing their job and this is when illnesses and diseases start to take over. The primary objective of a natural colon cleanse is to break down and remove the hardened material that is stagnating in the intestines, colon and rectum. This has a two-fold effect:
It allows the intestines to function properly again so that conditions such as constipation and diarrhoea are a thing of the past.
It dramatically reduces the amount of self-produced toxins so that the detoxifying organs of the body only have to deal with ingested toxins.
Most natural colon cleanse programmes consist of a colon cleanse diet and a number of colon cleansing supplements. You can begin by slowly converting your diet from one of processed and fast foods to one consisting mainly of fruit and vegetables i.e. a detox diet. Many people also find it beneficial to embark on a 2 or 3 day fast as well. A standard colon cleanse will involve:
Fasting either water or juice based.
A strict detox diet high in fibre.
A probiotic supplement to replace the friendly bacteria lost during the initial fasting period.
Flax seeds and bentonite clay these two ingredients both swell up when they absorb water and act as laxatives. They also bind toxins so they are eliminated from the body.
Herbs that help to stimulate the liver and gallbladder; the bodys main detoxifying organs.
A salt enema to wash away any remaining waste matter.
All detox programmes should begin with a colon cleanse because at the end of the day it is pointless cleaning the liver, blood and lymphatic system if the colon is still producing toxins. A natural colon cleanse can be uncomfortable for a few days however the benefits far outweigh the costs. You will very quickly feel clean from the inside and far more energised which both are feeling that everybody longs to feel. Education Agency or Direct Enrollment? A Guide for International Students

By Steve Sutherland If you have a school in mind you can look on their website and contact them to find out how to enroll. Some students dont feel confident enough with their language ability to do this so prefer to have the assistance of a local who can speak their language. You need to know that the registrar at the school is willing to take the time to give you information and answer your questions? While some schools are happy to accept direct enrollments some are likely to direct you to an agent in your country to handle your enrollment anyway. Price. Wont an education consultant cost more? These days with the internet giving students direct access to information on thousands of schools around the world it may seem that it would make sense to go direct to the supplier (the school) and cut out the middleman (the agent) to ensure the best price. Some schools now have information in a variety of languages on their websites and employ foreign language speaking staff and so booking directly with them would seem to be a good idea for students that are prepared to do their own research. However just like in the travel industry (airlines and hotels) it is unlikely that you will end up saving much money by booking directly with the supplier (the school) and you may end up creating unnecessary stress for yourself. Agents have contracts to represent schools and receive a commission from a school for enrolling a student with them. Most schools appreciate that a large percentage of their enrollments come through agents and they wont do anything to jeopardize their reputation with education agents. The commission is set aside for education agents only and if any school were to start giving discounts for direct enrollments they would quickly have a bad name among agents. One problem for schools is students talking among one another. If some students find out that they have paid more than others then resentment of school management is stirred up, instead of the positive environment that schools need to create to keep students happy. So generally it is in the interests of the agent and the school that direct enrollments are priced the same as agency enrollments. Most schools prefer that agents dont offer students discounts (sharing their commission with the student) however some agencies do this, sometimes giving some of their commission back to students in the form of refunds, discounts, free gifts or scholarships. So booking through some agents could be cheaper then booking direct. It is likely that you will end up paying a similar amount in tuition fees if you enroll through an agent or if you enroll with the school directly. If seasonal discounts and promotions are offered to students booking directly then they are usually offered to agents as well. If you have a school in mind it doesnt hurt to make inquiries and to compare the price of both options. If the program price is similar if booked through an agency or direct through the school you may as well use the agent for the convenience and service that they offer. If the agent is charging excessive consulting fees then you may consider trying to book directly yourself. Information The big advantage of using an education agent in your own country is that you can meet with them face to face. You can get a much better understanding of the school and your intended course of study by having a meeting with an expert. Agents have usually had meetings with school representatives, have a lot of school information on file and may even have visited the schools that they represent. An agents business is consulting and they should be spend a fair amount of time to give you information not only on the school but every other aspect of planning your trip as well. Agents have information on many institutions, courses of study and countries around the world. An agent could save you countless hours of research time on the internet by suggesting options suited to your requirements. If you have a school in mind then the registrar will probably be happy to advise you over the phone and via email but the communication may not be as clear as with a face to face meeting with an agent. It is becoming more common for students to seek information from an agent and then try to enroll themselves directly into the institution that the agent recommended. Some agents now charge a deposit before they will start the consulting process. Schools will often still honor the agents commission if they find out that a direct enrollment has come to their school as a result of an agent consulting that student. Visas and travel arrangements Education agents will usually apply for your student visa for you. They will also usually assist with other aspects of planning your trip such as booking flights and giving you useful information on traveling and your destination. Schools are not able to give you much assistance with your visa application (apart from providing some of the necessary documents) and travel arrangements. Its much easier for the agent to handle these things in your home country before departure. Getting a student visa in some countries is quite simple and it will be easy to do your own application. However in some countries it is a difficult process and you really need the assistance and expertise that an agent can offer. In Conclusion Overall I would suggest that for most students using an Education Agency is a better option then booking direct for the convenience that agencies offer students at usually little or no extra cost. Private Investigators - Part V

By Michael Russell In this article in our series on private investigators we're going to cover where private investigators get their training, how they go about getting employment, what the job outlook is for new investigators and what investigators can expect to earn. Private investigators get their training from a variety of sources depending on what area of investigations they want to go into. For example, a person who wants to get into criminal investigation working for criminal defense or prosecution lawyers may go to a police academy first and get training as a police officer specializing in criminal investigations. Others may go to college and take up criminology or some related discipline. Those who want to become investigators for corporations may go to college and take up finance or accounting. The avenues of education that are open to one wishing to pursue a career as a private investigator are virtually limitless. Some investigators, however, may get their training from specialized agencies that are set up for the sole purpose of training private investigators. One such organization is the National Association of Legal Investigators (NALI). This organization not only provides training but also administers written and oral exams that a person must pass in order to get certified. So, how does a private investigator get employment once they have become certified? There are essentially two avenues they can pursue. They can either set up their own agency if they have the funds, though in most cases this is not a first option, or they can apply for a job with an existing agency. Unfortunately, most agencies are small and offer little chance for advancement. Unlike law enforcement, there are no defined ranks or steps. Advancement comes in the form of increased salary and assignments and is usually solely based on job performance. In the case of legal and corporate investigators there is the chance that one may eventually become supervisor or manager of the department. In the most recent census of private investigators, there were about 43,000 registered in the United States. About 26% of those are self employed. Many of these hold secondary jobs as well because private investigation work can be very erratic. Sometimes there is more work than one can handle in a day and at other times the cases are hard to come by. About 27 percent of the jobs were in investigation and security services. About 15 percent of the jobs were in departments of general merchandise stores. The remainder worked in state and local government jobs. The job outlook is good even though private investigation is a very competitive field. Many qualified people are interested in this line of work. Fortunately the demand for investigators is expected to grow very fast up until the year 2014. For those interested in becoming an investigator and wanting to know what kind of money they can expect to make, the average salary in 2004 was about $32,000. The middle 50% earned between $24,000 and $43,000. The lowest 10% earned just slightly under $20,000. The upper 10% earned about $58,000. The amount of money a private detective and investigator earns varies greatly by employer, specialty, and geographic area.

Job Interviews: What to Wear

By Sharon Jacobsen It takes between seven and seventeen seconds for a person to make an impression of us and much of that impression is based on how we look. It stand to reason, then, that what we wear to job interviews will make a far greater impact on our success than anything we're likely to say once those first crucial seconds have passed. Dress For the Job If you're applying for a job as a sale assistant in a trendy boutique in a hip part of town, what you wear will need to be very different to what you'd wear when being interviewed for a job as a lawyer's personal assistant. By wearing what you believe you'd wear to work if offered the job, you're silently saying that you understand the position you're applying for and that you have the knowledge to fulfil the company's expectations. If you're applying for a job where you'd be wearing a uniform, think about the kind of uniform that you'd be likely to wear. Is it very casual, as in the unformed overalls given to a car mechanic? Is it smart casual, as often worn by delivery couriers? Is it smart, like the kind of uniform worn by bank employees or perhaps a hotel doorman? Choose your wardrobe to reflect the uniform. Men: Casual - Clean, pressed jeans with a T-shirt or sweat top
Smart Casual - Casual slacks with a cotton shirt and blazer
Smart - A suit Women: Casual - Clean, pressed jeans with a casual top
Smart Casual - Pants or a skirt with a casual blouse
Smart - A pant or skirt suit with a smart blouse The above are simply guidelines - always use your own common sense when deciding what to wear. A job interview for a position in a trendy night club would demand something very different to what you'd wear to ace an interview for a job as a supervisor in a biscuit factory, even though both jobs would suggest you wear 'smart casual'. Accessories Men: Never wear make-up unless you're applying for a job where male cosmetics are generally accepted (trendy night clubs/boutiques etc)
Jewelry should be kept to a minimum. If you wear an earring, make it a small stud. Leave heavy chains and large rings at home and replace them with something less obtrusive. You may like the message such items of jewelry give but the chances are your interviewer won't
Never wear track shoes, even if you're dressing casually Women: Subtle make-up
A few, well-chosen pieces of jewelry. Studs in the ears, a delicate chain around the neck and 1-2 rings are enough.
Unless you need a large bag to carry a portfolio or similar, stick with a small purse
Heels should be low Personal Hygiene Whilst job hunting it's important you: Have your hair trimmed and styled regularly
Keep finger nails trimmed and clean
Wear deodorant
Wear only a very light perfume/after-shave, if any Men should be clean shaven or have a beard kept neatly trimmed. By following these tips you'll be giving yourself a far greater chance of successfully securing the job that you want. Remember: seven to seventeen seconds is all you have to make that all-important first impression. Sharon Jacobsen is a freelance writer based in South Cheshire, England.
